I can never have enough blushes, I hoard them like crazy ! theBalm is one brand I didn’t have access to until it launched on Nykaa few months ago. I had tried theBalm Balm Shelter Tinted Moisturiser and it was a decent product. The team members reviewed theBalm FratBoy & theBalm Cabana Body shadow blush and I was quite interested in trying one of these shadow blushes myself. theBalm Hot Mama Shadow Blush is another famous shade in the shadow blush range and I got a chance to try it out.

An all-in-one essential, this smart shadow, beautiful blush and subtle highlighter is tucked inside a go-anywhere compact. This pinky-peach  hue adds a splash of color to your cheeks and a hint of shimmer to your lids, while illuminating your finest features.

Packaging is simple. theBalm Hot Mama Shadow Blush comes in a cardboard case with a mirror in the lid. The packaging is cute but not sturdy.

Shade – theBalm Hot Mama  is a peachy gold color. On me it works more like a highlighter than blush, however it looks beautiful when applied as an eye shadow. If you are fair then this one would look absolutely gorgeous as a blush.

Texture & formula – The texture of this shadow blush is smooth & finely milled. I don’t like formulas that have chunky glitters. I have tried it as a highlighter and the color adds a beautiful sheen and compliments my complexion. Another way of using it is over the blush. To get highlighted cheeks without looking like a disco ball.

Formula is fine and blends into the skin without highlighting texture. I don’t have large pores so can’t really say if it highlights pores or not.

Pigmentation – The shade is quite light hence color hardly shows up on me. On lighter skin tones theBalm Hot Mama might work as a nice blush though.

theBalm Hot Mama Shadow Blush is priced at Rs 1399, available at Nykaa

Overall thoughts

I believe if your complexion is similar to mine then there is no point in buying theBalm Hot Mama Shadow Blush. The shade hardly shows up and you can get a better blush with shimmers in this price. Formula & texture is great and blends well.
