The Body Shop launched its much awaited Oils Of Life range in India last month. The range consists of Facial Oil, Essence, Gel Cream & Cream. I am testing out Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil & Cream for almost 6 weeks now and finally ready with my thoughts on both the products.

With the onset of winters my skin starts getting drier, parched & dull. Because of that I love incorporating Facial oil in my skincare routine and have used quite a lot of them over the past few years. I have dry but acne prone skin so I look for an oil with light weight & quick absorbing formula, almost similar to dry oil so that it works without attracting dirt or clogging pores.

Oils Of Life facial oil comes in a glass bottle with a dropper. Initially I used it only during night , like other facial oils followed by Intensely revitalising cream. However I realised that using it only once a day wasn’t giving me desired results. In the morning my skin used to look dry, ever since I have started applying it twice, the texture of my skin has improved with almost no dry patches or dullness.

Oil has a dry oil texture, which means the product sinks into the skin within couple of seconds and doesn’t leave any sticky greasy residue behind. It hasn’t broken my skin out or caused irritation , which is something I dread when the formula is all pure & natural. If you don’t know The Body Shop Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil is made of 99% pure extracts of 3 precious Seeds oil – Black Cumin, Camellia & Rosehip. I am glad that it didn’t cause any irritation and working magically.

After using it for almost 5-6 weeks I can observe smoothness in skin’s texture with a noticeable glow. I don’t see much difference in fine lines or blemishes though.

Oils Of Life Intensely Revitalising Cream is a richer option from the two creams, and I picked it only because of my super dry skin. However its not as rich as you all might expect , but moisturizing enough to keep skin supple for a long time. The texture is light and it sinks into the skin after a couple of minutes. Due to its slightly oily texture I prefer applying it during the night only.

If I apply this alone during the day it keeps my skin moisturized for good 5 hours, after that I have to reapply it. However if used with Facial oil, my face stays supple & moisturized throughout the day.

Both the products have faint herbal scent which isn’t bothersome.

Overall Thoughts

If you are planning to pick one product from this range I will recommend Oils Of life Intensely Revitalising Facial Oil which is a non-greasy, light weight formula, that doesn’t cause breakouts or irritation. It improves skin texture & works magically on dry patches. Skin regains glow and suppleness with continuous application. This range has covered all skin types, the oil is light weight and you can adjust the quanitity as per your skin’s need. The cream is not too thick or heavy, you can also choose the gel cream variant which would be lighter and suitable for oily skin.
