Swiss Beauty Silky Smooth Foundation Review Swatch Photos Price

I’ve tried so many different foundations till date with different formulas as coverage, be it from the drugstore or high-end brands. I have liked quite a few to name and the Faces Blend Finity Stick Foundation is one of my favourites. I was looking for a new foundation to try out from the affordable brands the other day. Swiss Beauty has been recently launched on Nykaa and since hadn’t tried much makeup products from the brand, I thought of picking the foundation and giving it a try. I chose the Swiss Beauty Silky Smooth Foundation from the collection and I’ll share with you what I feel about it.

So, I’ve been using this foundation for a couple of weeks now and I have mixed feelings about it. I am not sure if I actually like it or not. I tried to wear it a couple of times to check how it behaves but still have mixed thoughts about it. This is what it claims:

Swiss Beauty Silky Smooth Foundation that glides on smoothly to give flawless, spotless skin. The foundation has a water and powder creamy texture, which hydrates skin for 12 hours and delivers a soft matte finish for velvet-smooth perfection. So be ready to flaunt a fresh base look which feels fresh as it covers!

Packaging:

The foundation comes in a white and rose gold plastic tube with a small nozzle and plastic cap. I honestly prefer foundations with a pump so I can control the amount of product I would like to use and avoid wastage and messiness. But for the price it comes with, I don’t mind much. The packaging overall looks a bit flimsy and could have been better. But again, looking at the price and quantity, it’s negligible.

Shade:

The Swiss Beauty Silky Smooth Foundation comes in 6 different shades:

  1. White Ivory
  2. Rose Blush
  3. Natural Beige
  4. Natural Nude
  5. Medium Beige
  6. Warm Honey

I picked up the darkest shade that is Warm Honey thinking that it would suit my skin tone. It has warm undertones and I thought it would suit my skin the best out of all. But it is sad to know that even the darkest shade is a bit lighter for me. As far as I know, Swiss Beauty is an Indian brand, and even being an Indian brand, the shade range isn’t just upto the mark.

We Indians are more wheatish and have diversified complexions. The brand has focused only on lighter shades with different undertones. If it increases the shade range, more people will be able to use it. I don’t understand why the shade range is like this.

Texture and formula:

The foundation has a runny consistency but not too runny. It feels light on the skin and doesn’t cake up at all, which is a good thing. I have dry skin and it didn’t dry out my skin further. The consistency is similar to that of the Nykaa Sculpting and Hydrating Foundation.

Also, it blends effortlessly with both a brush and beauty blender. However, it claims to give a matte finish, but I honestly don’t feel it mattified my skin. Instead, my skin looked much dewy and glowing.

Coverage:

I thought it would have a medium coverage since it claims to give a velvet matte finish. But it has a sheer to medium coverage, and I can clearly see my acne scars and spots when I apply it. I tried to build up a second layer and it didn’t work much to cover up my scars and spots. Also, it cakes up when I apply a second layer.

Quantity and price:

So, the Swiss Beauty Silky Smooth Foundation comes with a 40 ml quantity and retails for ₹ 299. It is quite on the affordable side looking at the price and quantity compared to other drugstore foundations.

My experience with the foundation:

When I used it for the first time, I didn’t set it with a powder, and it made my skin look dewy and natural. It lasted for a good 3 to 4 as well. The coverage is also according to my likings since I mostly prefer foundations that have a medium buildable coverage. But the shade is completely a bummer. It could have been so much better!

Hoping to see the brand coming out with more shades for deeper skin tones. If you have a light to medium skin, you’ll be able to find your shade. Also, if you have oily skin, you would need to set it with a powder.
