Biotique Bio Sandalwood Lotion SPF 50 Review

Biotique Bio Sandalwood Lotion

I would like to share my sad & bad experience with two sunscreens I bought last year and regretted. The one which I loved and have bought again will be listed last. So this an article with a happy ending. Lets start with Biotique Bio Sandalwood Sunscreen. Its priced at Rs 280 for 210 ml bottle and can be purchased from Flipkart

Biotique Bio Sandalwood Lotion SPF 50 Review

What does the company say about it – Sun Protective Cream with Natural Minerals. Ancient Sages have used Sandal Wood to protect and heal the skin. It is an excellent combination of Sandalwood along with Saffron, Wheatgerm, Honey and Bark of the Arjun Tree. It protects skin from the harmful effects of the sun and environmental pollution
I heard a lot about Biotique products and started trying them one by one. I was looking for an effective sunscreen so thought of trying their Red Sandalwood Cream SPF 50.
What I hated most about Biotique Bio Sandalwood Lotion is how greasy my skin looks after application. It’s a lotion which takes ages to get absorbed in the skin. Smells like herbs not at all like SANDALWOOD. It caused break outs too *Sob* *Sob*. I was so disheartened and immediately stopped using it. I might be useful to those who have super-dry skin (I hope so).  I have somehow managed to finish a bit of Biotique Bio Sandalwood Lotion by using in winters as a moisturizer (which again feels sticky ewwww) … oops

Lakme Sun Expert Anti Darkening Sunscreen SPF 15 – 100 ml for Rs 195/-

After dumping Biotique sunscreen I moved on to find another sunscreen. Lakme has built brand in makeup and skincare so I bought this sunscreen with a hope of satisfying results.

What does the company says about the product: A moisture-intense sunscreen with SPF 15, gives you complete UVA and UVB protection from the sun, keeping you tan-free all through the day. Perfect for skin that needs extra moisture. It has Chamomile and marigold extracts too.

The other day when I was getting ready for work I applied it and OMG it made me look GROSS. It looked as if I had applied grease or oil on my face. I waited for 15 mins to let it absorb into my skin but *Sigh* that was useless. It didn’t go anywhere and my face looked darker and sticky. I immediately removed the lotion and felt relieved. It felt heavy and regular application might have caused breakouts too. My heart broke again and I was left with no other option then to dump this one too. Though it didn’t caused any breakout but I remembered the way I looked after the application so couldn’t gather the courage to use it again. Even though I have dry skin but still hate sunscreens which “over moisturize” the skin and made it looked greased.

Lakme Sun Expert Anti Darkening Sunscreen

After two heart-breaks God finally heard me and I found my dream sunblock in a superstore (Over dramatic!!! hehehe)

I bought this Sunscreen from Lotus herbals which is

Lotus Herbals Safe Sun 3-in-1 Matte look Daily Sunblock with SPF 40 – 60g for Rs 165 & 120g for Rs 275

`It claims to work three ways

1. Sun protection

2. Skin lightening

3. Mattifying

Its Key ingredients are Octyl salicylate, Benzophenone-3, Avobenzone, Micronised Titanium Dioxide, extracts of birch, Mallow & hops.

Lotus Herbals Safe Sun 3-in-1 Matte look Daily Sunblock

I am in love with the product. It’s kind of tinted and definitely mattifies skin. It doesn’t leave white cast on the skin and blends quickly. I feel that the tint makes skin look even and bright. I haven’t seen it making me fair so far but doing its bit to safeguard my skin from UV rays ( I feel so). It didn’t break me out. I am already through with the small tube and bought a new and larger one.

Do share your Favorite sunscreen’s name as my hunt will start soon 🙂
