How many neutral everyday lipsticks one needs? In my case I need them more than any other shade. I have over 10 neutral lipsticks and not all of them are nude. I love dusty rose as an everyday shade because it compliments my complexion and doesn’t give a zombie look. I never like neutral lipsticks that match my skintone, a hint of pink has to be there. After hearing a lot about Sugar Cosmetics Breaking Bare Lipstick , I decided to pick it up. I also have Coraline In The City and I am not a fan of the formula. However this one has won my heart !

Packaging is a neat matte case. I am not a fan of the blunt tip of the lipstick since it makes it difficult to get a precise neat application of color and doesn’t fit into the curves of the lips. But thats not much of an issue if you apply it with a lipstick brush.

Shade – Sugar Cosmetics Breaking Bare is a dusty rose lipstick. It is perfect everyday shade for medium-darker complexions. I love wearing it on a daily basis as it compliments my skintone and doesn’t look OTT. I can’t call it a bare/ neutral shade since it is quite dark. This shade reminds me of Revlon Ultra HD Lipstick Primrose.

Texture & Formula- Now coming to the formula, I personally prefer matte finish since they are long wearing and hardly needs touch ups. However matte formula can be little drying and continuous usage can leave you with desert-mouth or chapped lips. However Sugar Cosmetics Breaking Bare Lipstick is not drying matte, it is matte but doesn’t feel uncomfortable on the lips. In fact I really love the finish. Texture is soft and glides on even when you have’t applied any lip balm, and stays on for a long time without emphasising lip lines. Unlike Coraline In The City , Breaking Bare doesn’t crumble or separates on the lips.

Pigmentation – Breaking Bare is quite pigmented and I really don’t need multiple swipes to get opaque coverage. Though to get even application I have to layer it twice. The color is pigmented enough to cover lip discoloration.

Staying Power – The lipstick stays on for a long time, on me it stays for good 4-6 hours, depending on how much I eat or drink during that. Even after meals the color stays on and doesn’t fade completely. The shade doesn’t leave any stain behind.

Overall Thoughts

If you are of medium-deeper complexion then Sugar Cosmetics Breaking Bare Lipstick is a must have. The formula is matte but really comfortable on the lips. It doesn’t feel drying and stays on for a good time.
