Stila Pocket Palette Lip Gloss Compact Quad No. 2 Review & Swatches

Stila Pocket Palette Lip Gloss Compact Quad No. 2 ($ 32)Stila Pocket Palette Lip Gloss Compact Quad No. 2 review swatches (1)Stila Pocket Palette Lip Gloss Compact Quad No. 2 review swatches (2)Stila is one of those brands I always had my eyes on, and when I found this Pocket Palette online, I immediately decided to try it out. The quad consists of four colors, and is around 4 gm. in net (or, one big lipstick size). Thankfully, this summer, till now, has treated me right and left my lips with little pigmentation, which makes it easy for me to wear these glosses straight out of the palette. There were 9 quads to choose from, and the site I purchased from had it for about $32, but when it comes down to the facts, four different Stila lip colors at the price of $32 sounds good, at around $8 per color. Stila Pocket Palette Lip Gloss Compact Quad No. 2 review swatches (3)Packaging: the packaging is worth gushing about. The outer brown packaging contains a beautiful, steel-silver colored square package with pink lips printed all over it, with the brand name right in the center. This makes it pretty much impossible to miss out, and it can be put in your jeans pocket if you are on the run. It is sturdy enough to be able to withstand a good bit of manhandling from me, and I have dropped it once, but it has not been damaged in any way.Stila Pocket Palette Lip Gloss Compact Quad No. 2 review swatches (4)Product: There are four lip gloss colors to choose from. Top left, the white shade translates to transparent color on my lips with lovely golden and pink glitter. I am reminded of a particular Illamasqua gloss every time I use it, only the glitters are not as abrasive as the Illamasqua one. Top right, the color translates to a lovely shade of plum-brown with satiny shimmers, which is very flattering to my skin tone.

Bottom right, there is a lovely basic gloss with subtle bronze-golden shimmers, which I love applying solo as well as on top of lipsticks, and bottom left, the color is a lovely shade of warm mauve-y pink with light shimmers, which is a my-lips-but-better shade on me. All the colors apply semi-sheer to sheer on my lips, depending on the way I layer them.Stila Pocket Palette Lip Gloss Compact Quad No. 2 review swatches (5)All the colors are very wearable, and they glide on nicely without any stickiness normally reserved for a gloss. I love the fact that there is no fragrance and they can be applied easily. Personally, I feel that the brush that comes with it is not good at all, as I found that it started shedding the moment I used it, so I stick to using my lip brush (or, if I am on a rush, my forefinger) to apply the product all over my lips. The glitters and shimmers are not over the top, and that is a big plus for this palette.

Texture and lasting power: My lips stay hydrated and glossy for about 2-3 hours, and that is one of the reasons why this summer the palette is becoming my fast favorite. The mirror that comes with the palette is big, and quite appropriate for any touch ups I need. I generally refresh this after 2-3 hours, and after meals. The colors do not leave any stain behind and can be removed easily with a makeup remover. Stila Pocket Palette Lip Gloss Compact Quad No. 2 review swatches (6)
