Skincare During Winters Contest {CLOSED}

Skincare during Winters and how to prevent skin damage

1292382769-7XYNHBC

I love winters more than summers because I get to wear all those knee high boots, furry cozy coats and scarves. But winter has its own drawbacks. As winter is setting in, listen to the cues that your skin is subtly giving you.  Winds and cold weather are just as damaging to skin as over exposure to the sun. Before turning on the geyser, think of the effect of the relaxing warm shower on your skin; before sipping that hot cup of coffee, think of the effect it may have on your skin; before using a blower to keep you warm, think of how dry it is making your skin.

Girls with dry skin have to be extra careful during winters as it makes skin drier. I have dry skin that turns into super dry during winters. I will share some tips with you that will make winters a smooth ride for you all irrespective of what skin type you may have –

Use a body scrub/ Exfoliator – Try to use any body scrub at least once a week to get rid of all flaky skin and dead cell build up. Regular exfoliation will keep your skin healthy, soft and flake-free.

Fight skin damage this winter – Depending on how dry your skin becomes, you may need a more emollient moisturizer. Any moisturizer should be loaded with ingredients that help keep moisture in your skin. Look at ingredients and try to spot vitamin E, glycerin, ceramides, fatty acids, and hyaluronic acid there.  Dry and dull skin is only a manifestation of a deep cell level damage. It is essential to fight the invisible damage at the cell level rather than just surface level visible damage. Focus on the importance of a repair and fortify regimen that penetrates deep down into the skin working at a cell level. For that I will recommend using Cell Renew Body Lotion & Cell Renew Moisturizer for face. Vivel Cell Renew products have 10 times Vitamin E Benefits that repairs & fortifies skin at cellular Level.

Range

Additional Moisture – If your skin becomes dry no matter how intense moisturizing formula you use, try mixing few drops of Jojoba or Vitamin E Oil with the lotion on your palm and then apply it over your body. I have tried this on very dry parts of my body (like feet, elbow) and it works for me everytime. Not to forget that different parts of our body need different type of care as the skin of hands versus body versus face are very different. So I would recommend using complete range of Cell Renew that includes a moisturizer, Body Lotion & Hand Cream.

BodyLotions

Don’t forget Sunscreen – During Winters you don’t see sun often, that doesn’t mean you can skin Sunscreen. UVA & UVB rays are still there and will harm your skin. Do not step out without wearing sunscreen (with atleast spf 30)

Warm ghee on lips before going to bed at night for rosy lips. Also I apply a nice hand/foot cream and cover my hands/feet with cotton gloves and socks before going to bed.

Chop the vegetables like carrot, potato and cabbage into small pieces and boil them.Keep the vegetable water aside as it can be used to wash your face.Mash all the boiled vegetables together and add a teaspoon of milk to form a paste.Apply all over the face and leave it for 15 minutes. Rinse off with cool water. The vegetables tone your skin and also provide enzymes that help to balance and cleanse the skin at the same time.

    Hi ,
My winter Skin Tip: Blend about half a cup of oats and add a mashed banana to it. Apply this banana mix on your face and leave it over for 10-15 minutes. Gently rub your skin while washing it off. This will remove all the blackheads and dead skin cells also giving you fairer skin tone . Use it in winters and get a perfect toned skin with no complaints.

My best winter skin care tips : A mixture of milk and honey comes handy anytime for a radiant glowing skin. A pack of papaya and banana helps me get rid of dry skin. The reason is because both are rich in vitamins and water, and have a good impact on dry skin. Also the best way to detox your skin is by going natural. Drinking lots of water through the day cleanses my skin. Another important thing especially when is never forget to remove make-up before sleeping. The chemicals in cosmetics ruin the skin eventually. Washing my face regularly with water or rose water leaves me with extremely vibrant skin..:)

My winter skin care secret is a simple one…
I apply a thick paste of Besan + Haldi + Unboiled Milk + Few Drops of Sesame Oil on my face, neck and arms. Let it remain on skin for apprx 10 mins and rub it gently after that. It reduces skin tanning while giving soft radiant skin. Wash it off with lukewarm water later. Occasionally, a li’l bit of Chandan Powder can be added for natural fragrance.
Other than this regular skin care regime, when i’m in a hurry i prefer rubbing on my face a mixture of milk cream and haldi powder for instant supple feel and freshness.

So, Enjoy savings for not buying expensive beauty products as well as get compliments from everyone 🙂

During winters we tend to feel less thirsty…I make sure that i drink 8 glasses of water as it is extremely important that we keep our body hydrated from both inside and outside…I make sure to apply a body lotion at night… I use a paste of gulab jal and grinded cucumber twice a week…This gives a glow to my face and doesn’t let it dry up or feel stretchy….I keep a lib balm handy as during winters there are more chances of our lips getting chapped which looks and feels very bad….These are my tips for winter skin care… 😀

I do not have any home made winter care routines.. but what i always do during winters is the moment i take a hot shower, instead of drying myself with the towel.. i first apply a generous amount of body lotion all over my body.. so as.to retain the natural oils …I have noticed my skin becoming smoother.. had read about this tip in some magazine…

Will be definitely trying out the other winter care routines sent by other participants 😀 thank you

There is nothing special which i do for winter. As i have oily skin so it tends to get drier especially on T-zone. So what i did is after Cleansing and toning i skip moisturiser. Instead i use a mix of 1 drop each of Geranium essential oil and Grapeseed Carrier Oil. It moisturise drier areas and keep it soft and supple. I woke up in the morning with smooth skin.
One more important thing which i do is for lips. I make sure to regularly exfoliate my lips by sugar and olive oil as in winters our lips skin get dry very fast. and apply Clarified butter (Ghee). I swear by Ghee as it is the most natural effective balm properties.

my winter skin care secret is another simple easy thing – take a vitamin E capsule – if you have oily skin massage it directly on your face at night, if you have dry skin add it to your night cream – simple and easy to do – and vitamin E capsules are not costly and are easily available at chemist shopts

Mixing glycerin and rose water in a spray bottle and spritzing on face 1-2 times a day works for me..the proportions can be adjusted on how much dry your skin is (i.e a little more glycerin). I like how it can be personalised and keeps my skin supple 🙂
