Skincare Tips for Acne Prone Skin (Adult Acne)

I never knew that the small bumps on my jawline was adult acne untill I visited a dermatologist. I used to think dry skin can never have acne pimple issues, but I was wrong !.. I have changed my skincare routine and sharing “Skincare Tips for Acne Prone Skin” with you all.

I have been using following products to keep my skin clean and that has reduced break out to almost 70%. If you have seen my last skincare routine update, you would know the products I am going to talk about ! DSC00772

Sebamed Clear Face Cleansing Foam (Rs 630 for 150 ml) This product was recommended by dermatologist. I use it twice daily, I take one full pump of this product, apply it all over the face and leave it for 2 minutes and then wash it off. I have been using this product for almost 1 and 1/2 months now and have seen visible difference in the texture of my skin. I hardly see break outs anywhere on my face except one or two on jawline.

This is not a miracle product and takes some time to show results. Its pH balanced so it never dries out skin, my skin feels supple and soft after wash. Also its soap free so suitable for sensitive skins too. It has a faint scent and this bottle lasts up to two months even after using twice a day !

Sebamed products are available on all the online shopping sites.

Neutrogena Oil Free Acne Wash (Rs 425 for 175 ml) – Dermatologist suggests oil free non comedogenic products in case of acne. I use Sebamed Cleansing foam but it doesn’t seem to take off residues of makeup. I use half a pump, and that is more than enough to lather up and make my face squeaky clean. Avoid it from getting into eyes or it will sting like hell and make them red. This is the product I am totally loving , it has salicylic acid and this product does help in suppressing existing breakouts.

If you have dry skin I would recommend using it only once a day, during night only and that too half a pump, excessive usage of this product can lead to dryness. In case you have oily skin, use this product twice a day. Half a pump would be more than enough for all skin types. The way I am using it, this one bottle is going to last almost 4-5 months !

Neutrogena products are easily available in stores or online..

Also while buying a skincare or makeup product make sure that its non-comedogenic, or stick to brands that offer skincare products for acne prone skin e.g. Neutrogena, Sebamed, Olay. To avoid clogging of pores and causing breakouts !

If in case you have broken out use Supatret C gel after washing your face in the evening, apply the cream on acne, pimples , leave it for 30 minutes and then wash it off with plain water. It has to be used as spot treatment not all over your face !

Do not POP acne, pimples or they will leave marks behind, apply Supatret gel/ keep using the cleansers, and they will eventually dry and fall off.

Rest drinking lots of water, avoiding oily/ junk food, eating lots of fruits and vegetable helps a lot !
