Revlon Transforming Effects Nail Polish Review Photos Price

I look at top coated photographs of nails online and keep wondering, when such beautiful top coats be ever launched in India. I did not quite like the top coats launched by Maybelline as the finishes were not anything special. On a trip to a mall, I suddenly came across the Transforming Effects Nail polish launched by Revlon recently and decided to have a look at the bottles. I did some research to find out that these are already launched in US and the bloggers are all rave about these polishes. I bought two shades 785 Matte Pearl Glaze and 775 Gold Glaze online and am extremely happy to have done so. Let us get into the reviews without further ado.

Packaging – It comes in the iconic bottles of Revlon nail enamel. However the black caps have ‘transforming effect’ written all over it in gold, diagonally.

Shade- Revlon Transforming Effects Nail Polish 785 Matte Pearl Glaze is a milky white translucent polish with heavy pearl and pink/purple sheen. It looks really matte from the bottle and appears runny. 775 Gold Glaze is a lesser runny polish with beautiful yellow gold shimmers on a clear base. Both the shades look like sheer magic from outside and adds much glam and aura to my nail polish stash. I get transfixed for a few seconds, gazing at 785 Matte Pearl Glaze, every time I pull it out for applying.  And 775 Gold Glaze is a stunner as the brilliance of the polish can hardly be contained in a minor glass bottle.

Texture – Both are runny but are extremely congested with minute shimmers. They are just uniform and well spread and so you don’t have to keep on fishing for shimmers to show on your nails.

Pigmentation & Finish– This the best part about these Transforming Effects nail paints and had it been not. I would have been left wondering as to the ‘transforming effect’ claim of the polishes.

Both the polishes are top coats and hence are supposed to be applied on a solid colour. However on application of the top coats the solid base colour changes completely and forms a different colour altogether. Until and unless you perform and see the results, you cannot gauge which colour will turn into what post application of the ‘transforming effect’ polishes. It is a really interesting feature and I am absolutely flabbergasted by it.

However please do not misunderstand what I am trying to say here. As of course the colours change but nothing too drastic as pink changing to black, or red changing to white. 😛 (refer photos for clear explanation)

On an average basis, 785 mattifies the base polish, adds a slight milky touch to it, changes the colour and tops over with a brilliant pearl, pink and purple sheen.

775 adds a glossy sheen with heavy shimmer cover that just makes your nails look like jewels. A single coat is all you need and there has never been requirement of more than one coat each time I have used these. 775 does not drastically change the colour of the base and it is to some extent predictable as to what transformation it brings, unlike 785.

Staying Power – Stays put for about 5 days chip free, with shine/matte effect intact.

Overall Thoughts

I have no words for Revlon Transforming Effects Nail Polish. I don’t even know whether to call these nail polish or magic potions! The transformation is thrilling and each time the excitement of the newly formulated nail colour is heightening. There are other different types out there like, holographic pearls (I am eyeing it!) and golden confetti. It is a rare incident that I rate a product 5 on 5, but this time Revlon has earned it.

Rating- 5/5
