I never wanted to buy this one due to the shimmer factor but the airbrush mousse makeup somehow intrigued me.

Shade – Out of the 3 shades available in Indian market, this is the second shade. My exact shade would have been 040-natural beige but we don’t have many shade options here. Natural Ochre It is slightly lighter for my skin tone though it has yellow undertones and adjusts to my skin color after an hour or so.I prefer using this with a drop of darker shade of Revlon colorstay foundation as this way, I am able to reduce the shimmer and dewy effect while having proper shade for my face.

Packaging – This foundation comes in a spray can with a tilted nozzle. It has a nozzle dispenser which has to be pressed a bit harder and a burst of air infused mousse will be out.Revlon Photoready Airbrush Mousse Makeup review swatches (3)Texture & Formula – It has the most unique formula I have ever seen. It starts off as an airy, lightweight mousse but a slight touch and it deflates into a liquid foundation with slight creamy consistency. I try taking one pump as it is uncontrollable to dispense the amount. Also, as the bubbles deflate, you get more foundation .The texture is light weight and very easy to blend into skin. The formula gives a dewy finish which is a bit too much for me as I prefer matte finish. It has tiny photo chromatic pigments (shimmer) that blur imperfections and give illusion of flawless face.

Pigmentation/Coverage – The foundation gives dewy finish with medium to buildable coverage. However, I would not recommend going for a heavy coverage with this as it looks extremely cakey. One layer gives a healthy glow with medium coverage and two layers give a shiny face. It does cover minor skin problems, redness, and unevenness with ease but blemishes, under eye are need proper concealing. I don’t like using it under eyes as the shimmer in it accentuate the fine lines. It doesn’t clog pores or break me out.

Staying power – Revlon photo ready airbrush mousse makeup lasts for about 5-6 hours on my face with a setting powder over it. After that I have to blot my face as my face starts looking shiny.Revlon Photoready Airbrush Mousse Makeup review swatches (1)Ease of Application – Revlon Photoready Airbrush Mousse Makeup blends like a dream without leaving any patches or streaks. I apply it using sponge.

Overall Thoughts

I am definitely impressed by Revlon Photoready Airbrush Mousse Makeup . It is light weight, medium coverage with dewy finish. This is a fresh change in my makeup bases as I prefer matte foundations. But the shimmer might be too much for those who don’t like shiny products. The shimmer is apparent on face under sunlight and on closer look but a swirl of finishing powder reduces appearance of shimmer to a great extent. This foundation does give amazing photos under flash provided right shade is used as it makes the face too white. For that ,I use it with Revlon color stay to achieve my shade. I won’t recommend this foundation for oily skinned beauties as the finish is extremely dewy. The limited shade availability is a major con as it is difficult to get exact shade.

I find this product surprisingly good. It gives a very flawless finish and doesn’t settle into lines. The only down side is that I can’t wear it on warmer days as it is too oily and melts off.
