When it comes to pick out a lipstick either a red , orange or pink shade attracts me the most   and I have always loved Revlon for their super lustrous range and matte balms lipsticks range . The Revlon color stay over time suddenly caught my eye as it’s a liquid lipstick. With the new craze of liquid lipsticks I definitely wanted to own this pretty thing from Revlon . I bought the shade forever scarlet as it appeared the perfect red for my skin tone. Also with the price tag of It my expectations towards this pretty thing grew more , lets find out did Revlon Forever Scarlet Colorstay Overtime Lipstick pass or not .

Packaging :- Revlon packaging never fails to impress me , they come In sleek long dual ended tube form . One side of the tube has the lipstick shade and other side of the tube have transparent top coat . The liquid lipstick side comes with a sponge tip applicator and the transparent top coat, which is a gloss comes with a lip brush like wand . The brand name Revlon is written on the middle of the tube. The shade name is written on the lipstick side of the tube . Overall packaging is something new for me , I quite like the sleek shape of this lipstick .

Shade :- The shade ‘forever scarlet ‘ is a  bright red with some orange and pink tones , its not a deep warm red  but a true vivid red.

Texture & Pigmentation :- Liquid to matte lipsticks are quite a trend now as they are popular for  providing amazing pigmentation and ‘ scarlet red’ is highly pigmented as other liquid lipsticks  too . I decided not to use the top coat glossy part after application as I wanted to see how it looks as a matte shade without the top coat . On application one thing I disliked was it dint gave even application at once I had to dip again and apply  on the rest of my lips .

Once applied Revlon Forever Scarlet Colorstay Overtime Lipstick took around 15-20 seconds to dry. Once dried completely it feels really uncomfortable on the lips , quite tacky , heavy and sticky I would say . Then I thought the glossy top coat would vanish this discomfort feeling.  I applied the top coat all over. It left me with bright red glossy finish somewhat better than before lips .The sad part about the top coat is that it  needs to be  reapplied after  every  30 minutes  to make your lips smooth   .Therefore one needs quite some time  do to this again and again.

Staying Power :- The Revlon colorstay overtime  as the name says is actually true . Two things I absolutely adored about this liquid lipstick is 1] The longest wear time about 8-9 hours 2] The bright red shade . Even after around 7 hours the intensity was not faded , water dint help me too. I had to take baby oil two times to completely remove this lipstick as it  leaves a powerful stain behind .

Overall Thoughts 

If you are planning to wear Revlon Forever Scarlet Colorstay Overtime Lipstick. Your lips needs to be moisturized very well as this lipstick tends to dry out your lips . I am not happy with this Revlon range as I don’t understand the point behind the top coat, which just vanishes after 30 minutes and reapplication does not make any difference in making your lips uneasy. With the price tag I expected a lot too much, but sadly was disappointed as the lipstick alone  felt quite heavy plus sticky  on the lips. The only thing for which it is good is the overtime staying power and the range of colors available .
