Revlon Finale Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick Review

My sister knows that I love Blood-red shades so she gifted me this shade few months ago. I love gifts especially when it’s from my sister because she is a makeup junkie like me. When I saw the shade I was very happy because it was such pretty red and thanked her for gifted it to me. I have been testing Revlon Finale Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick for quite some time and today I will review it.

Packaging: Revlon Finale Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick comes in cute and sturdy tube. The cap is transparent and it shuts with a click sound which ensures that it’s travel friendly. You can see the lip color without having to take the cap off which is really good for those who have more than one of these lippies. The packaging is attractive and light-weight also.

Shade: Finale is a beautiful red shade without any shimmers. It has a glossy sheen to it which looks really beautiful. The shade is universally flattering and it will suit all skin tones. You can intensify the shade according to your choice and it doesn’t look awkward when layered. I love the tomato-red color.Revlon Finale Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick Review Swatches Photos (2)

Formula: The texture of Revlon Finale Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick is creamy and it applies smoothly. But after sometime (10-15 minutes) the creamy texture turns into a matte texture. It starts looking drying and gives a very non-moisturized look to my lips. I exfoliate my lips before using this lipstick and also apply lip-balm beneath but still it feels very drying and matte. I apply lip balm on top if it but it still looks patchy after 1-2 hour. A balm helps a little bit but you still see unflattering finish. I hate the texture this lipstick has and I would say please skip it if you already have dry chapped lips because it will make your lips look awful.

Pigmentation: The lipstick is averagely pigmented; one single swipe gives you a balm like effect with slight sheen. But when you layer it 2-3 times it gives a nice red shade. The shade is buildable and it never looks cakey. I usually swipe it twice to get a deep reddish kind of shade. It shows up beautifully on my pigmented lips.

Staying power: It stays for maximum 2.5-3 hours on my lips even when I use a lip-balm beneath. I don’t like how it wears off. After 3 hours it stays around the edges but fades from middle of my lips giving a lip-liner kind of effect. I just hate the look so once it starts fading I remove it and then re-apply it again.

Overall Thoughts

Revlon Finale Colorstay Ultimate Suede Lipstick starts great but soon starts looking terrible. It gives a non-moisturized look to my lips and also feels little drying. Stays for 3 hours but fades from middle of lips and looks awful. I love the color, packaging, even the staying power but the formula is really bad, definitely not worth 700 bucks. I won’t be buying any other shades from this shade, horrible it is.

Rating: 2.5/5
