Revlon has come up with a unique concept of mixing, matching and creating eyeshadow palettes on the go. The brand has recently launched “Colorstay shadowlinks” in 20 color, Check out Swatches Of All Revlon Colorstay Shadowlinks posted couple of days ago.

Bit about Revlon Colorstay Shadowlinks

-Mix and match your favorite shades to create your own customized palette
-Interchangeable shadows easily snap together or come apart
-Rich color in a variety of finishes from matte to sparkle
-All-day wear

Shades – I have 3 Revlon Colorstay Shadowlinks to review today. Plum is true plum matte eyshadow, Onyx is a black with silver shimmers, Peacock is an aqua blue color with satin finis. Plum and Onyx have been combined to create a nice daytime smokey look below. My personal favourites from Revlon Colorstay Shadowlinks are Plum, Taupe and Khaki.

Texture & Formula – Revlon Colorstay Shadowlinks are available in 4 finishes – Matte, Metallic, Shimmer & Satin . Onyx has a shimmer finish with these chunky silver glitters. I find the texture nice and smooth however the shimmers are bit gritty. That means one has to be careful while doing eye makeup ensuring shimmer doesn’t get into eye. Revlon Colorstay Shadowlink Plum is a matte plum eyeshadow, that doesn’t have a smooth texture. I would rate it as an “Average” formula, that needs lot of layering to show up on my lids even on a primer. Though it looks really pretty and compliments my skintone. Peacock has satin finish and goes on smoothly, but the color doesn’t show up well , and needs an opaque colored base that can give this shade some boost. I have observed fallouts in all the three eyeshadows.

Pigmentation – Revlon Colorstay Shadowlinks Plum & Onyx have average pigmentation. Peacock needs a good complimenting eyeshadow base otherwise color wouldn’t show up and would need lot of layering. This is something I observed while Swatching all Revlon Colorstay Shadowlinks, Pigmentation varies across the board. Some lack it and some have rich pigmentation.

I have created this eye makeup look using Revlon Colorstay Shadowlinks Plum & Onyx. Plum in inner 3/4 and Onyx in outer 1/4 on NYX HD Eyeshadow Primer

Overall Thoughts

I Loved the idea of creating a palette on your own by mixing and matching your choice of Revlon Colorstay Shadowlinks. You get 20 shades to choose from in different finishes. Pigmentation and Formula of shadows varies across the board and some shades are very sheer. However I really liked couple of shades and would be adding them in my makeup stash soon. One should give these Revlon Colorstay Shadowlinks a try just because of the fun mechanism and wide color selection, also there are couple of shades that will compliment Indian complexion.

I’m so in love with plum and onyx. Plum showed up beautifully on me with just concealer as a base but yeah I’m not fond of the texture that much 🙁
