Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen ( Rs 575 for 1.6 g) available at Flipkart
When I started wearing makeup, felt tip liners were always my preference over traditional liners. Felt tip gives you control and they are easier to apply when you are pressed for time or if you love wing eyeliners but still learning to get a perfect wing. I have used couple of felt tip pen liners in the past and decided to give Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen a try.
Shade – I got Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen in Black. Unfortunately the color isn’t intense black and needs layering.
Felt Tip – I find the tip a bit too stiff , it almost scratches my eyelids when I try to build the color (by layering it). I would have preferred a softer tip as It will be used on the delicate eye area.
Pigmentation – I find formula of Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen less pigmented. It needs atleast 3 layers to get an opaque line, even then I don’t get desired intensity. This is a major downer since eyeliner pens costing less than this perform way better. Layering back and forth is time consuming.
Formula – Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen isn’t waterproof or smudgeproof. People like me who have watery eyes will end up with traces of eyeliner or may be raccoon eyes by end of the day. Longest I have worn it for 6 hours with liner disappearing from the inner corners of my eyes.
Good part is only splash of water can help you get rid of the eyeliner.
That’s how 3 layers of Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen looks on me –
Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen was a disappointment for me. Its not enough black, waterproof, smudgeproof or long lasting. Felt tip is very stiff and unpleasant to use. At such a price I would have expected a decent product.
