Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain Honey Douce (Rs 600) available at Revlon counters
Lip butters and Balm stains were the two most awaited products for me. I have already tried and loved lip butters so the moment I heard that Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains are available I immediately raided Lifestyle store to get them.
What Revlon Says about Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains
It’s a pampering balm fused with a lightweight lipstain in an adorable chubby crayon. Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain gives softer, smoother lips with a perfect flush of color that lasts hour after hour. The gel formula comes in 12 vibrant shades that match any look or mood.
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain Honey Douce is a Rosy Mauve shade which reminds me of L’Oreal Nutri Shine Lipstick Rose Guava, except it doesn’t have shimmers and costs less. These lip balm stains come in a crayon lookalike twist up packaging which looks adorable and reminds of Clinique Chubby Sticks. Though the Chubby Sticks cost almost double (Rs 1050). If I am not wrong I could see 10 shades available. See how much product it comes with..Texture of these stains feel buttery and balmy. The stick glides on smoothly and looks like a lipstick only. Now I prefer these over Lip butters as these aren’t prone to melting and bleeding.Formula is moisturizing and feels very comfortable on lips. It keeps lips hydrated and doesn’t highlights lip wrinkles. The finish is glossy.
They are sheer when it comes to pigmentation but can be build up to opaque coverage. All you have to do is keep on layering till you find the opacity to your taste.
These Lip Balm Stains feel and taste minty when applied, but the feeling and taste wears off after few minutes. I loved the shape of the bullet which makes it super easy and convenient to use.Staying power is 4 hours, and the slight pink stain remains for another 2. I feel that once the formula wears off lips start feeling bit dry, not uncomfortably dry but dry. I have realized that the darker is the shade the longer is the staying power/ staining. I had hard time removing swatches of darker shades from my hand.
In my opinion Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain Honey Douce can look different on different lips, more pink on pink/ non-pigmented lips and more mauve on pigmented. I believe this one shade would be loved by college going girls and the girls who work as this looks really natural and the stain too looks very natural.
What I liked
- The formula is really moisturizing.
- Number of shades to choose from.
- Cute packaging which is travel friendly and good for quick touch ups.
- Reasonably priced.
- Availability.
What can be improved
- Staining from lighter shades doesn’t last long.
Overall Thoughts
I would really recommend these balm stains to all the girls out there reading this article. They have number of shades from oranges to mauve to pinks to hot pinks to reds and cherry. I am sure we all can find our shades. The packaging is really cute and great for travelling. The formula is definitely moisturizing. Its sheer but buildable ‘Honey’ can be a perfect choice if you are looking for a shade to wear daily to work or college. However the staining power in lighter shades can be bit of a challenge.
