There are times when I can’t decide which one I love the most – Makuep Or Food . So when I got invited to try American European Cuisine at Cafe Torque, My tummy said “YES”.
Cafe Torque has a biker theme. Right from the Bike tearing out of the banner to the one on the wall and one on the display. The feel is all grungy and tough, when you walk in. Do notice the handles of the door.
Cafe Torque stands out with its quirky & ambient decor. Just a couple of glances are enough to shout out its affinity towards bikes & food.
The grungy garage interiors, with super-bikes for sale on display, a World map made of nuts & bolts adorning a prominent wall, bannisters propped with chains, guitars made of heavy metal and a bar mural paying tribute to intricate design, Cafe Torque is ruddy and raw, yet welcoming – not only for riders but anyone looking for a delicious meal in a fun place. The menu at Café Torque comprises of cuisines from around the globe with strong European & American influences.
We decided to go with the flow and asked the staff to serve dishes as per their choice. And believe me I love this option, you get to taste their most loved dishes and dishes they feel proud to serve.
We started with Paan Asian Mojito & Orange Cumin Coolant. Believe me Paan Mojito was a pleasant surprise, just the right amount of paan flavour, very refreshing.Next was Let It Roll, made from Zuchini, goat cheese & peppers. Very creamy, melt-in-your-mouth texture. Belly Shover – Both Mushroom & Chicken versions, delicious crispy potato bowls, though the filling was slightly bland for me. Jerk Powered Chicken Wings – Super Spicy Chicken Wings served with a sauce. Outer skin was crispy with succulent chicken inside. Loved it !
Laksa Chicken Skewers – Super Duper Spicy, yummy! With a bowl of those I will be the happiest girl on earth. Chilli Cheese Poppers- Crispy Fried Chilli stuffed with cheese were crunchy and tasty. Barbecue Chicken Burger – Juicy Chicken patty with caramalised onions made it taste little sweet to me. However that mint mayonnaise and finger chips did the needful. That was one huge platter for one person.
We decided to finish off the dinner with Pasta. It was ok-ish, bit chewy.
The star of the dinner was Bailey’s Banana Trifle, it had layers of Banana, cream, brownie and chocolate. Overall I loved the feel and quirky decor of the restaurant. Nice change from the usual fine-dining restaurants. Delicious food and peppy music, perfect for youngsters.
