How to Reduce Dark Circles NaturallyUnder eye area is the most delicate part on our face. The normally used face products do not suit the delicate skin of the under eye area. A slight change in the routine easily reflects around the eye. The stress, strain, heavy work, fatigue all easily shows up in the under eye area. Dark circles are usually referred to as discoloration of the skin under the eyes.

There are several causes for dark circles.

  • Lack of sleep,
  • Long working hours,
  • Stress and strain,
  • Unhealthy daily routine,
  • No proper diet,
  • Dull skin,
  • Ageing,
  • Hereditary factor

Dark circles can happen during any age. Preventing dark circle is a constant effort. Naturally treating the dark circles is the best way to keep the discoloration at bay. Here are few natural methods for reducing the dark circles. Even if you have no dark circles, these methods help in preventing the occurrence of dark circles.

  1. Cucumber: Cucumber is an age old remedy for under eye problems. It is a cooling agent and soothes the tired under eye circles. Apply fresh cucumber juice on the skin around the eyes. Leave for 15 minutes and wash off after half an hour.
  2. Potato: Chilled potato juice is very effective for dark circles. Even the darkest circles around the eyes get reduced to a great extent by the potato treatment. It acts a mild bleaching agent and lightens the dark skin. Grate chilled potato and apply fresh juice around the eyes. Wash after 15 minutes.
  3. Cool Tea bags: Tea bags are another best way of reducing dark circles. Tea bags reduce the puffiness of the eyes. Place cool tea bags on the eyes for 15 minutes; this helps reduce dark circles & dullness.
  4. Tomato & Lemon: The acidic nature of both tomato and lemon helps lighten the skin under the eye. These citric juices help to a great extent to reduce the darkness and lift up the dullness.
  5. Vitamin E & Almonds Oil: Oiling and very light hand massage helps soothe the under eye skin. Since there is lack of oil in the area, oil and light massage helps a lot. Lack of moisturizing easily shows the signs of ageing too. Mix 2 drops each of vitamin E oil and almond oil and apply around the eyes. Wash after 30 minutes. This helps the soft skin texture under the eyes.
  6. Cold Milk: Apply cold milk on the closed eye lid and the area around. This is a natural coolant and moisturizer too. Wash after one hour. Apart from using the natural remedies there are few more tips to follow without fail.
  7. Remove the eye makeup and restore the skin to normal by using any of the natural remedies. Use a mild eye makeup remover so as to not to hurt the tender skin.
  8. Sleep well : Lack of sleep bring is dark circles; the darkest circles ever.
  9. Healthy diet and regular routine helps in achieving a glowing skin. This includes the under eye skin too.
  10. Drink lots of water. Water maintains suppleness and glow of the skin.
  11. Include fresh fruits, dry fruits, fibrous food that has vitamins and essential nutrients.
  12. Avoid unnecessary strain and stress. Relaxed routine, adequate sleep is a must for healthy glowing skin.
  13. Avoid sun exposure. Use shades and proper protection from sun to reduce dark circles
  14. Use products specifically made for delicate under eye skin. The face pack and other facial products that we use on the face are not fit for under eye use.

Reducing darkness is not the ultimate goal. Maintaining the liveliness in the under eye skin is the challenge. Preventing the occurring of dark circles is the concern which needs constant effort.
