Real Techniques Buffing Brush Review

Real Techniques Buffing Brush , part of Core Collection Kit. £20.95

When I was a beginner, I always used my hands for applying my foundation and couldn’t understand why girls put in so much of money on buying make up brushes. I saw girls rave about Real techniques make up brushes. And I was craving to buying it since last year now. Unfortunately it’s not available in India and we have to buy it from the International Websites selling Real Techniques. I thought of buying RT from lookfantastic.com after reading Shalini’s stippling brush review. However, a friend of mine was coming from UK. So I thought of giving her my list. That way I would get my stuff easier and faster. Also, I am really scared of Mumbai customs. And that’s the only thing that keeps me buying stuff from International websites.

Coming back to the Buffing brush, it’s a gem of a brush. And from the time I have got this brush, all the other brushes that I have are attracting dust 😛Real Techniques Buffing BrushThis brush is actually a part of the Real Techniques Core Collection Kit and the sad part is you cannot buy it individually. In order to get this, you have to buy the core collection kit. But believe me, this kit is a great investment. And you will not regret buying it. All the brushes in the kit are useful. And the Buffing brush is the Master brush of All.  Real Techniques Buffing Brush_2The gold color of the brush is a charmer. I really love Real Techniques for the funky and cheeky coloured handles of the brushes. The single brushes are in pink color, the core collection is gold in color. While the starter eye collection kit is purple in color. The kit comes in 2 in 1 case + stand which is very travel friendly. Samantha Chapman has done an awesome job with the packaging and look of the brushes I must mention. Real Techniques Buffing Brush_4Many girls do not like the handle and bottom of the brushes but I really do not have any complains. It perfectly fits in my brush/coffee mug. Each brushes are named as you can see in the picture, there it is printed that it’s a ‘buffing brush’ similarly all the Real Techniques brushes are named and not numbered. I think it’s a + point, especially for beginners who don’t’ know how to go about the brushes. Most of the brushes we buy like Sigma or Coastal Scents only have their brand name printed or else plainly numbered.Real Techniques Buffing Brush_5Major pros of buying Real Techniques brushes are that they dry in a jiffy and washing them is super easy. Simply wash them with a mild shampoo and use a good conditioner and let them dry. It dries up in 30 minutes. I have washed the buffing and stippling brush several times but none of them has shed a hair. They always remain super soft and dense. I guess that’s because they are made of synthetic taklon brushes and absolutely cruelty free.

Coming to the performance, I am in love with this brush. This is extremely soft and dense. I enjoy applying my foundation with the buffing brush. Whenever I am in a rush I use this brush because it covers major portion of the face and does not drink up my liquid/cream foundation. Revlon whipped cream and the buffing brush makes an awesome combination. They work each other like soul sisters. I also have the stippling brush but I like this one more as it buffs very well on my face and gives full coverage. I prefer medium to full coverage as I have acne scars on my face. This has become my HG foundation brush.

What I love –

  • Extremely Soft and dense
  • Gives medium to full coverage
  • Buffs in well
  • Easy, precise and smooth application
  • Does not drinks up liquid/cream foundation
  • Dries up quickly
  • Made up of smooth taklon bristles
  • 100% cruelty free
  • Funky and cheeky packaging
  • All the brushes are named and not numbered
  • Can be used with all types of foundation- powder, mineral, liquid or cream.

Improvements-

  • Availability in India.
  • Buffing brush not available individually.

Overall Thoughts

I HIGHLY recommend REAL TECHNIQUES Brushes. I think they are the best brushes that I have used till date. I actually have no words how amazing these brushes are in real. I know the availability is a major con but you can buy it from lookfantastic.com. My friend has bought it from the website and received it in a week’s time.

Ratings – 4.5/5 (0.5 for not being available in India)
