How many times you get to see a product with quirky packaging?? Especially in beauty/ personal care ?? I am talking about Park Avenue Beer Shampoo Here..

Park Avenue Beer Shampoo – Rs 160 for 200ml, available at Purplle.com and major stores around you. My Hair Type – Dry and thick.

I have been reading mixed reviews of this product everywhere. So I decided to use it in 3 different conditions and check how effective or justice it does to its claims.

1. I generally oil my hair 2 hours before washing. I did and washed off my hair using Park Avenue Beer Shampoo and Dove conditioner afterwards. My hair Felt soft, silky, shiny and bouncy. Though the volume wasn’t extraordinary, It was what I always get from other shampoos. Also it washed off oil completely.
2. I washed my hair without oiling them and didn’t use conditioner afterwards. Park Avenue Beer Shampoo claims to be 2in1 Shampoo+conditioner, but my hair were all frizzy and rough after dried.
3. I washed my hair without oiling and used a conditioner (Dove Hairfall rescue), my hair felt soft, bouncy & shiny.

My Experience:

I liked the look of the Bottle, looks almost like a regular Beer bottle, but made of plastic. The cap is crappy and when you try to squeeze the bottle to take out the product, the narrow nozzle falls off :/ .. I absolutely detest its smell, smells like beer or rotten banana.. But it goes off once you wash the shampoo away. 

The bounce, volume or shine was nothing unusual or extraordinary. My hair have their own shine and bounce and it didn’t made them magically bouncy but yes it didn’t make them limp either.

The quality  of the product is comparable to other alternatives available in the market (Dove, Pantene etc) though the price is a bit high +  its not free of chemicals. 

Overall Thoughts

You can buy this product to check the goodness of real beer infused shampoo. Don’t have high hopes as it will not make much difference to the condition of your hair. If you have dry & frizzy hair, don’t forget to use a good conditioner afterwards or oiling your hair before. The cheap packaging is not sturdy and is not good for travelling.  I wish they do something about the packaging and the repulsive smell of the product.
