Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm Dark Chocolate Review Photos

Today’s review is about Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm Dark Chocolate. I have dry lips though my facial skin is on the oily side. Lipbalms are the lifeline for my lips even in scorching summer.Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm Dark Chocolate Review Photos

I like to try different varieties of lip balms but strawberry and choco flavoured lip balms are my all time favourites. I wanted to try the Palmer’s brand as everyone has some good things to say about their body moisturizers.

Here’s what I feel about Palmer’s Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm Dark Chocolate.

2. Enriched with the goodness of Vitamin E

Packaging: This lip balm comes in a white plastic chapstick kind of packaging. The oval sleek shape brings an unique outerlook to this. There is a round knob at the base of the lipbalm bullet.

As you rotate this, The balm stick comes out at the opening. The tiny lip balm is extremely travel-friendly. It can fit even in small coin purses.Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm Dark Chocolate Review Photos

Shade & Texture: This lip balm comes in three variants. The shade Dark Chocolate is supposed to provide a cherry red tint to your lips. But, the pigmentation is so low that it looks almost tintless on my medium pigmented lips.

I don’t think the colour will show up on our Indian complexions.

The texture is smooth. The balm spreads evenly on the lips. The formula is thick and moisturizing. It does not provide a very shiny finish like petroleum jelly or Maybelline Baby Lips. It keeps the lips nourished for 2-3 hours and then you have to reapply.

Fragrance: It has a rich dark chocolate flavour. The fragrance is not at all strong; it will be there only for a few minutes. This is one of the best smelling choco flavoured lip balms I have come across till now.Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula Lip Balm Dark Chocolate Review Photos

Quantity & Price: Palmer’s Cococa Butter Formula Lip Balm costs Rs.130 for 4gm. 4gm is the standard weight for lip balms so there is nothing much to say regarding quantity. The price point is also comparable to other lip balm brands in the budget range.

My Overall Thoughts

Palmer’s is a reputed name among the affordable imported skin care brands. Their cocoa butter range offers some of the best body moisturisers. Naturally, I had high expectations from this lip balm.

Sadly, the result did not quite match my expectation. Let’s begin our discussion by saying, this is just another lip balm in the pocket-friendly range. Like any other standard lip balms, it provides nourishment to the lips. The formula is thicker but the thickness of the formula does not add much in its moisturizing power.

It keeps my lips hydrated only for 2-3 hours in a regular winter day. It is not sufficient to heal the chaps as well. The non-oily formula makes it a good option to use under liquid lipsticks and that’s the only good thing with this. The tint is not even noticeable.

Plus, the high percentage of sun protection providing chemical oxybenzone causes severe burning sensation on my lips. I have never had such eye-watering experience with any other lip balm. Even a Rs.30 lip jelly provides better results than this Rs.130 one. So, I won’t recommend this to anyone.
