NYX Makeup Studio Perfect Primer Green Review Photos Price

I generally colour correct the pigmented areas on my face using colour correcting concealers. But I had never come across or tried any colour correcting primers before since I was a bit sceptical if they would work on my skin. I was recently looking for a good primer that corrects the pigmentation and a few dark spots on my face. I then thought of choosing a green colour correcting primer since it would help in compensating for the redness on my face and came across this NYX Makeup Studio Perfect Primer Green. NYX Makeup Studio Perfect Primer Green Review Photos Price

I have used this primer a couple of times with different foundations to see how it works on my skin so that I can share my thoughts with you all.

Product description:

Start your make up routine with the NYX Professional Makeup Studio Perfect Primer which creates a perfect, matte base and makes your skin smooth as silk. The primer is extremely light on skin and doesn’t make your skin oily. This fantastic primer holds your foundation for a longer time without clogging your pores and ensures the longevity of your makeup.

Packaging:

The NYX Makeup Studio Perfect Primer Green comes in a black plastic tube with all the details about the mentioned on the packaging. The tube is not completely see through, but the middle portion of it is transparent so I can see the product upto an extent. On opening the cap, you see the tiny nozzle of the tube from which the product is to be squeezed out. I like it when primers have tiny nozzles since it gives me quite some control over how much product I want to use. NYX Makeup Studio Perfect Primer Green Review Photos Price

Consistency:

The primer feels extremely lightweight and smooth when I apply it on my face. It also helps in filling up my pores and blurs out my face to make it look like a smooth canvas. It is not a silicone-based primer, which I like, because I don’t prefer silicone-based primers much. But since this fills up my pores and makes it look smooth, I was quite impressed.

Quantity and price:

It comes in a quantity of 30 ml, which generally most of the primers do, so that’s not a concern for me. But when it comes to the price, it surely burned a hole in my pocket. It costs ₹1325 which is steep when it comes to a drugstore brand. NYX products are generally a tad bit on the costlier side, but this primer is way too pricey!NYX Makeup Studio Perfect Primer Green Review Photos Price

Lasting time:

I tried testing it with The Body Shop Matte Clay Foundation and did the rest of my makeup. I must stay my foundation was in place for around 5 hours, which is great thing! I didn’t find it difficult to blend the foundation on my face and I quite liked how it looked on my skin. So, the primer worked well in making my foundation last longer.

Overall thoughts:

When it comes to the primer, I like the way it feels on my skin. Talking about it working on cancelling the redness on my face, it takes a little time to settle down in my skin but blends nicely on my moisturised skin. it did compensate for the dark spots on my face but not the pigmentation, so I guess it would suit people with oily and acne prone skin more and cancel out the redness of the acne scars effectively.

But it made my skin look smooth and silky and my foundation glided on pretty well and my face looked flawless. It also helped in minimising the appearance of pores on my face. The only downside is its price. It is way too pricey for a drugstore primer and I am sure you can get better primers at half the lesser price than this one.

And about the colour correction, you can get rid of the dark spots and redness by using a colour correcting palette or simply using a full coverage foundation. It might help people who have lot of scars and oily skin so if you are one and don’t mind spending this much amount on the primer, you can go ahead and buy it.
