Coffee is a medium brown shade where Cabaret is a burgundy red shade. Texture of these lip pencils isn’t buttery smooth. They tug when you try them on dry lips. I always make sure to apply lip balm beforehand, that makes the application smooth and easy.

I have always debated over the need of lip pencils in past. Now I can very well understand that one always need if not all but a few shades in her makeup stash. Lip pencils define lips, they can make the staying power of lipstick longer if used as a base color. These long lip pencils are definitely longer than the regular ones. I generally use them as a base coat. and add a gloss or lipstick on it. I don’t have a brand new lip pencil to compare them with. I might put that up later.

Coffee is a shade i use whenever i am wearing nude or shades close to my skintones. This shade doesn’t wash me out if worn alone with a clear gloss. I wear it like that too. Formula isn’t buttery smooth and tugs onto lips while applying. After a while it starts highlighting fine lines too. But that happens only when you wear it alone. 

Cabaret is like i said, a deep red shade, i use to line my lips or fill them in before applying a sheer lipstick like MAC lady bug or an opaque one like Maybelline Pleasure me red. This is a great shade to contour and define the lips. Using it as a base definitely increase the staying power of lipstick. This is a deep red shade which will compliment all skintones so wearing it alone with a clear glass would also be a good idea.

Likes

1. Decently priced and you get lot of product since they are way longer than the regular lip pencils.
2. Good color payoff.
3. Easy to carry around and used as a substitute to lipsticks.
4. Easily available and wide variety of shades to choose from.

Dislikes

1. Formula can be bit drying if worn on chapped lips.
2. Sharpening them would lead to product wastage.

Overall Thoughts

A must have for any makeup lover. These can be purchased online or at beauty stores (Mumbai). They have good pigmentation and can easily replace lipsticks. Only downside would be the dry formula, one needs to moisturize lips before using these lip pencils. If you can buy them during any sale online (Cherryculture) that would be very economical. I am already planning to buy few more shades.
