Liquid lipstick craze started about 4 years ago and then all the brands be it high end or affordable came out with their own versions. I have tried a number of liquid lipstick formulas since then but only a few of them got a permanent place in my stash. While looking for a dark lipstick I came across Nyx Liquid Suede Lipstick Vintage and after using it for a couple of months and loving the formulation, went ahead and picked 4 more shades. Today I am going to share my thoughts with all of you.
Packaging is simple colored plastic tubes with a wand. The color of tube represent the color of lipstick. It definitely makes my life easier and finding the shade from the stash quicker.
Shades – This time I went ahead and picked a variety of shades. There are more than 15 shades available in this range with some interesting shades too. I picked
- Sandstorm – A peachy nude
- Soft Spoken – A mauve brown nude
- Kitten Heels – Bright Red
- Cherry Skies – Cherry Red
- Vintage – Burgundy
Sandstrom will work best on fair to medium complexion rest all the shades would look great on medium-deep skin tones too.
Texture & Formula – NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick has creamy formula which is very different from NYX Soft Matte Lip Creams. I am not a huge fan of the latter and always reach out for Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks. Texture is very creamy and easy to build and layer on. The formula doesn’t dry down immediately leaving room for tweaking and layering. It doesn’t set completely and transfers a little.
I have tried so many liquid lipsticks and most of the times continuous application makes lips dry & chapped. But with this formula I have never faced that issue which is amazing. I like how comfortable it feels on the lips and doesn’t get patchy or settle in lip lines.
Pigmentation – All the 5 shades are very pigmented. One stroke is more than enough to get even color on the lips. The formula is smooth & doesn’t get patchy at all.
Staying Power – 4-6 hours.

Overall Thoughts
I totally recommend NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick if you are looking for a smooth comfortable every day formula. Staying power isn’t as great as other long wearing liquid lipsticks though.
