This foundation was on my wish list and I wanted to try it for the ’HD’ effect. It is often compared to MUFE HD foundation. I tried the Makeup Forever one at Sephora but the formula didn’t seem to work for me.

Shade- I chose the shade HDF 04 (sand beige) which is a great match for my nc35-37 skin tone. It has yellow undertones.

Packaging- The packaging of NYX HD Studio Foundation is simple with a pump dispenser that keeps the bottle from getting messy. It is travel friendly and very sturdy. The shade name is provided at the top of the cap.

Texture & Formula- The texture of the foundation is simply amazing. It is neither too thick nor too runny. The foundation is very easy to apply and it blends like a dream. I apply it with my fingers and then even it out with a sponge. It doesn’t look streaky or patchy and feels light weight on skin. NYX HD Studio Foundation provides dewy, slight soft-focus to skin. It provides a healthy glow to my face and does blur imperfections to some extent. It has slight fragrance that is mild.NYX HD Studio Foundation Review Swatches Photos (2)Coverage/Pigmentation- The foundation provides medium to buildable full coverage. It doesn’t look cakey or overdone even after 3 layers. I like how NYX HD Studio Foundation feels light weight yet provides coverage. It blurs skin problems to a great extent.NYX HD Studio Foundation Review Swatches Photos (1)Staying Power– The foundation stays for about 6-7 hours on me after which I do need a compact as the dewy effect become s a bit too much for my liking. However, it doesn’t oxidise or grey out my skin.

Overall Thoughts

NYX HD Studio Foundation is a great choice if you like dewy finish. It photographs really well and the formula is great. The only problem is the availability. I prefer it more over the MUFE HD foundation.
