Shade – I have bought 4 shades trusting swatches that were available online, out of 4 shades 3 look really good. NYX Butter Lipstick Fun Size – A pale pink-brown shade, Fizzies – Rosy Pink, Fireball -Deep Coral, Juju – Coral Red (Though I find it more red with no hint of coral). Except NYX Butter Lipstick Fun Size all 3 shades looks amazing against my NC 42 skintone (Medium). You can fine all the shades listed on NYX website with accurate description of colors. There are 22 shades available in this range however I don’t see all of the at Cherryculture.NYX Butter Lipstick Review swatches (6)Texture & Formula – True to their name NYX Butter Lipstick has a buttery texture. These lipsticks glide on smoothly without tugging or pulling. Formula is very moisturizing and my dry lips felt comfortable throughout the wear. Lipstick doesn’t settle in fine lines however due to its super-creamy texture it might slip out of lips, so its highly recommended that one should line their lips with a lipliner before applying these lipsticks. NYX Butter Lipstick gives a creamy finish.

Pigmentation – NYX Butter Lipstick provides medium coverage, that means darker shades would completely hide lip discoloration/ pigmentation but lighter shades would need layering.NYX Butter Lipstick Review swatches (8)Staying Power – Due to its super creamy texture NYX Butter Lipstick wears off in 3-4 hours. However darker shades do leave bit of stain behind. I don’t mind reapplying lipstick as long as it doesn’t highlights flakiness or dry patches on my lips.NYX Butter Lipstick Review swatches

Overall Thoughts

I am really impressed with the buttery smooth texture and moisturizing formula of NYX Butter Lipstick. There are over 22 shades to choose with shades ranging from browns to pinks, corals and reds. I have dry lips and I am really enjoying the formula. Some of the deeper shades leave a stain behind, that means you wouldn’t be left with bare lips at the end of the day. I would love to pick more berry toned shades from this range soon.
