Nykaa’s recent launch is a new fall winter collection in So matte Lipsticks range. I was quite impressed with the available shades and thought of picking them. The original range has too many pinks thats why I didn’t pick more shades, it didn’t make sense to me. This time the shades are warm toned, deeper and perfect for fall winter season.
Packaging is bulky but magnetic. I liked the idea of magnetic caps until one opened up in the bag automatically. I prefer caps that shut with a click as they don’t open on their own. The cap moves if you twist it so it doesn’t secure at one place. I would have preferred a sleeker packaging but then it is completely upto the brand. The cases are opaque black, matte and have shade names/ numbers written on color coded stickers at the bottom.
Shades – There are 8 shades
13M Mulled Wine – Deep Wine
14M California Merlot – A deep brown red
15M Sugar Plum Martini – Deep Plum
16M Spiced Cabernet – Cinnamon Brown
17M Cranberry Sangria –
18M Irish Coffee – Cool Toned Brown
19M Hot Shot Espresso – Medium deep brown
20M Caramel Margarita – Deep brown
Texture & Formula – These lipsticks are called matte but they aren’t. I find the formula creamy with a visible cream finish. After couple of hours they do turn semi matte though. The creamy formula prevents tugging or pulling while applying these on the lips. But they do cling on to dry patches making them prominent. So exfoliating lips beforehand is always advised.
Shades feel good on the lips and stay on for a decent amount of time. When the weather is turning cold, a moisturising creamy formula comes to the rescue since no one wants to worsen the lip situation with too much matte going on.
Pigmentation – All the shades from Nykaa So Matte Lipsticks Fall Winter Collection are pigmented. One stroke is enough to get a nice opaque finish.
Staying Power – Varies from shade to shade, average would be 4 hours.
Nykaa So Matte Lipsticks – Fall Winter Collection are priced at Rs 399 each

Overall Thoughts
If you want to venture into creamy formulas then Nykaa So Matte Lipsticks would be a good choice. The fall winter collection has come really spicy warm shades to offer that would suit majority of indian skin tones. There are some good browns and reds there.
