Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser Review

Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser (Rs 899) available from nykaa.comNeutrogena Wave Power Cleaner Review (2)Neutrogena Wave Power Cleaner Review (3)Neutrogena Wave is one of the new generation of electric power cleaners that makes use of vibrations to help dislodge dirt and gunk and give you a very clean face.

The Clarisonic, the power cleaner that started it – is not currently available in India and is in excess of $100.  That makes it out of reach for most people.  Yes, I do like a real exfoliated clean feeling on my face, but coughing up such a huge sum of money is just not worth it.  Plus the Clarisonic comes with a rotating brush head that uses special cleansers, another money drain.

So what do you get for a fraction of the price?  Enter Neutrogena Wave.  This is not what you would call a dupe of the original, as it uses a completely different technology, but the end result is supposed to be similar. I cannot do a comparison, since obviously I don’t own the Clarisonic.

The Neutrogena Wave

Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser is a compact little oval shaped device – white and magenta.  It is battery operated and comes with cleaning pads that stick onto the Velcro type surface.  You can buy a set of 30 pads for Rs 399.  One cleansing pad is for a single use.

You simply attach the cleansing pad, hold under a little bit of water to start the pad foaming and put on the switch.  The device starts vibrating and you hold it to your face.  You clean your face using the wave for about a minute and switch it off manually.  Its as simple as that.Neutrogena Wave Power Cleaner Review (1)My experience

Using this after a day out in the sun and pollution gives you a squeaky clean feeling.  Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser manages to pull off more dirt than normally washing your face with a scrub.  The soap on the cleaning pad is the same Neutrogena Deep Clean that is part of my daily skincare routine.

I have really oily skin that tends to break out if my pores clog up.  This assists in reducing the number of break outs that I get.

However, this works best if you have been out all day.  If you aren’t really exposed to heat, dust and pollution, this device makes little difference.

Overall Thoughts

Neutrogena Wave Power Cleanser a little nice to have device, not a must have definitely.  If you are in the market for something fun and do need a lot of deep cleaning and exfoliation, this will work.  This however is clearly not a dupe for the Clarisonic – that uses much higher technology.

I have contemplated buying this a lot of times but never actually went ahead and did it… Now I think I made the right decision as using Neutrogena Deep Clean everyday would be too much for my skin.

    Thanks for the review 🙂

Preeti, this is much harsher than just using Neutrogena Deep Clean face wash. The key is to work out the frequency that best suits your skin type. I don’t use this daily, only 4 to 5 times a week – and I have oily skin.
