This oil not only nourishes the hair, you can also use it for relaxing muscles, relieving stress and stress related sleep disorder. It also works on dandruff, hair fall even minor cuts and burns.

My dry scalp and hair needs apt attention throughout the year. In winter I suffer from dry flaky scalp when the summer time brings itchiness and sticky.

This Navratna hair oil is a staple hair care product for me in summer ever since I started growing out my hair.  Here’s why I like this hair oil so much.

About Navratna Ayurvedic Oil

Navratna Oil is specially formulated to relieve you from stress. It has been meticulously prepared from a combination of nine unique Ayurvedic herbs.

Its everyday massage gives enjoyable cooling which provides relief from daily mental and physical stress- and its related symptoms like headache, fatigue, tension, insomnia etc.

It not only solves specific hair and body related ailments, but delivers superlatively on all desired benefits, like beauty & nourishment, traditionally sought from hair oils.Navratna Ayurvedic Oil Review Photos Price

Packaging: Navratna Ayurvedic Oil comes in a clear plastic bottle with maroon flip-top cap. The packaging is sturdy and travel-friendly; though I don’t carry hair oils during short trips. The oil bottle does not leak oils from anywhere.

I hate messy oil bottles. coming to the informative details, this oil bottle has majority of information mentioned in Hindi. It was difficult to get through the claims and other details with my preliminary level hindi knowledge.

Thankfully the ingredients list is in english or I would keep scratching my head!

Colour & Consistency: The oil is deep red in colour; it looks almost marron in the bottle. The texture is medium. It is not a light oil like those mineral oil based scented hair oils.

Its texture is comparable to coconut oil. The formula is nourishing. It is a perfect formula for heavy oiling treatments.Navratna Ayurvedic Oil Review Photos Price

Fragrance: It has a heavy herbal kind of fragrance. The presence of mentha adds an energizing effect to the smell. The fragrance is quite strong.

Unless you are accustomed with ayurvedic hair oil formulas like neelbhringadi or japa-kusum, you might get a sensory overload. This is not a hair oil for those sensitive-nose ones.

Quantity & Price: Navratna Ayurvedic oil is priced at Rs.40 for 50ml. This is the smallest bottle. It has 3-4 bigger sizes; the biggest being 300ml.

The price is comaparable to most budget-friendly hair oils available in India. This oil is rarely on discount so you are likely to pay the full price. Quantity and quality wise the price seems okay.

My Overall Thoughts

My hair heredity is not amazing. I neither have thick and nor strong hair. My hair is not dense at all. It took years and years of rigorous care to reach shoulder length to buttock length hair.

Hair oils played an important role in my hair journey. I like thicker hair oils like plaim coconut oil, bhringaraj oil or ayurvedic oils. I use Navratna Ayurvedic Oil to do a heavy oiling on my hair 2-3 times a week.

This is a cooling oil; it creates a deep cooling feel on the scalp. This effect lasts 30-45 minutes depending on the amount of oil you apply. This immense cooling feel might cause cold to people who catch cold easily.

That’s why I use this oil sparingly on the scalp only. For the rest of my hair I apply my regular coconut oil. Then I sit back and relax for 1-2 hours and wash the oils with a mild cleanser.

The oil makes my hair softer and eases the tiredness. It also helps with the itchiness of my scalp.

Rating: 4/5
