Nars Sin Powder Blush Review Photos Price

I am back with a review of a blush from one of my favourite high end brands, NARS. The NARS powder blush range is really beautiful; it’s really a task to choose which one to buy. NARS Orgasm is a cult favourite; it is definitely an obvious choice. Then is my favourite one from the range, Nars Dolce Vita. My next choice was to go for something plumy or berry toned. After contemplating between Oasis and Sin, I decided to choose the latter. Let’s see how well Nars Sin fared for me.

Packaging – The blush comes in a sleek signature NARS Black packaging. It looks quite luxurious and classy. The rubberized finish does make it look attractive, but it also is a fingerprint magnet.  Can get dirty easily and not an easy task to clean. The blush comes in a rectangular pan inside and also has a decent sized mirror. The amount of product and the mirror size justifies the price.

Shade – Nars Sin is described as a Berry tone with gold shimmer on the NARS website. I would say it is more of a cool toned plum berry with golden shimmers and has a frosted finish. The shimmers are not very large, quite subtle n tiny infact. It has more plum than berry and very subtle pink undertones. Unlike Dolce Vita it is not matte. Infact you can say it is the plum version of Orgasm.

Though it is a cool toned blush it shows beautifully on the skin coz of the golden shimmers in it. It is an appropriate shade for Indian skin tones. It wears beautifully with a subtle pink plummy glow on the cheeks. It is one of those blushes which looks different with different skin tones, giving each skin tone their unique blush colour. Paired with a dark/deeper lipstick it will definitely look its best.

Texture & Finish – The blush is finely milled and the texture of the blush is smooth and velvety. It feels buttery to touch. Since it is a shimmery blush it does have a little fall out when you try to pick it up. But not too much. Your pan doesn’t get messy.  It blends beautifully. It gives your cheeks a warm plum glow. Though the shimmers looks pronounced on the pan, on the face it gives a more luminous finish. It gives a healthy pink plum flush and brings warmth to your cheeks.

It acts as a blush and a mild highlighter, appropriate for day time wear. Fairer skin tones will need to be a little careful while applying this one coz a little goes a long way with this one. But, warmer skin tones can definitely carry this beautifully on their skin. It gives a natural flush with a subtle glow to the cheeks. The overall finish is natural and beautiful.

Pigmentation – It is a decently pigmented blush. It gives enough colour to cheeks without looking OTT. Just a gentle touch with a fluffy blush brush is enough to pick up the required product. For a natural look apply it with a fluffy blush brush. For a more prominent wash of colour apply with a dense blush brush. It is buildable without making your cheeks look like having a blotchy bob of colour. Either way it looks very natural and is easy to apply and blend.

Staying Power – Nars Sin Blush stays on my skin for 8 hours easily. After that it slowly starts fading, but doesn’t look uneven, even though it has shimmers in it. After 9 hours it starts to fade of gradually.

Overall Thoughts

NARS SIN blush is a finely milled plum toned velvety blush with a subtle glow. It is decently pigmented and comes off looking quite natural on the skin. It will suit all skin tones. Indian warmer skin tones can carry this colour beautifully.  Expensive but worth the splurge coz it is a unique shade which cannot be defined and also acts a subtle highlighter along with being a blush. You don’t need 10 other plum toned blushes if you have this, it is unique in itself. It is a good investment and the product would last you very long even with regular use as a little amount is enough every time.

Rating – 5/5
