Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer Broad Spectrum SPF 30 Review

I am a huge fan of NARS COSMECTICS. Their brand spells luxury. Obviously luxury comes with a price, so they are certainly expensive. But all the products I have used from them so far have been worth it. In summers I like minimal makeup. Anything else melts off anyway. I generally go for BB creams or Tinted moisturisers in the summers which give me sheer to medium coverage, especially for day to day use. If they have SPF it is an extra plus for me. I picked up the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturiser after careful research and after hearing rave reviews about it. I wasn’t disappointed.

Packaging – Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer comes in a black opaque matte finish tube style packaging wherein you need to squeeze to get the product out. The nozzle dispenses the right amount of product. The lid is quite sturdy and stays close firmly. Hence it is quite travel friendly and easy to carry around. I find the packaging quite attractive.

Shade – The NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer comes in 12 shades. It caters to all the major skin tones and undertones. And since it is sheer to medium coverage everyone will be able to find an appropriate shade for themselves. I chose the shade St. Moritz for myself. It is described as Medium with a neutral yellow undertone. Suits well for me skin tone.

Texture & Finish – The tinted moisturiser has a thin and creamy consistency. But not too thin or runny that it will run down your hand or face. It spreads and blends into the skin easily. I find the best way to blend it is using my fingers. It blends easily and flawlessly using my fingertips. It gives my skin a natural skin like finish. It is dewy without being greasy or shiny. It feels like my skin is radiating from within.

It completely disappears into my skin, leaving it so natural looking that you cannot detect that it’s there on your skin even if you look closely. It makes my skin look a better version of itself. It doesn’t cling to the dry patches around my nose or mouth nor does it accentuate my pores. It settles down beautifully on my skin making it look even, slightly dewy and very natural. It will fare very well on dry skinned beauties. I usually set only my t-zone with a light dusting of loose powder to keep it looking natural. Oily skinned people might need to set it with powder completely as it might make their already oily skin, overtly dewy.

A tiny amount goes a long way to cover your entire face. One tube will definitely last you long even with regular usage. It has a mildly pleasant scent, which wears off after a few minutes.

Coverage & Pigmentation – Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer gives sheer to medium coverage. You can build it up without it getting flaky or looking cakey. I personally prefer only a single layer, which makes my skin look beautifully natural. It covers my skin evenly. It is not highly pigmented it just covers the light pigmentations. People with heavy blemishes will need to use concealer to cover the same. But, since a tinted moisturizer is not required to give high coverage, just even out the skin, I am quite happy with it. And, moreover I do not like heavy coverage which sits and feels like a mask on my face.

This product evens out my skin, makes it look natural and gives me a feeling as if there is nothing on my skin. Even though it’s dewy it’s not sticky when I touch my face. Overall it is perfect for covering the light imperfections on the face, at the same time allowing it to look skin like.

Staying Power – This is the one fact that has impressed me the most. In summers when anything and everything melts off, of my skin, this product stayed on my skin for nearly 8 hours. And that too just with a light dusting of powder.  Even after that, it doesn’t disappear completely, just starts to fade off gradually. Trust me, this doesn’t happen with me.

I sweat a lot and usually my makeup melts off easily. But with this one I roamed about in sun walking and sweating and it still stayed on my skin. Yes it does get shiny after 4 hours, on the t zone and the inner cheeks, but a light blotting takes care of that.

Even when it gets shiny, it doesn’t look oily, that’s what I love about it. On very dry skin it would stay like a dream. In fact I feel it gives even my blush a better finish when I wear it over this tinted moisturiser. The only downside is oily skinned people might have to blot their faces a couple of times during the day.

Overall Thoughts

I love this product completely. Nars Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer is my go to in summers and I am sure it is going to fare well in the winters also. The SPF 30 is an added advantage. Though it is not a mattifying base, I still love it for my summer’s coz it gives me the miracle of not melting off my skin. It is a light weight, easily blendable, decent coverage product with a long staying power and gives your face a very natural, lightly dewy skin like finish. Its decent shade selection gives an option everyone. It works for all skin types.

Dry skinned and normal skinned people will wear it beautifully. Oily skinned and acne prone beauties, though would need to blot their skin over the day, but would love this product as it is oil free and wouldn’t irritate or enhance your acnes. It won’t stick to your dry patches or accentuate your pores and fine lines. It is a long lasting product which gives you a velvety finish and justifies its price with all its qualities.

People looking for sheer and skin like coverage would love this product. I reach for it all the time in summers and on days when I don’t want to fuss around with my makeup/base or look around for hundred tools for application. I have been using it regularly, still it is going to last me a long time coz a tiny amount goes a long way. It is going to stay permanent in my makeup stash. The only con is probably the availability in India. Apart from that the NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer, lives up to all its claims and is definitely worth spending over.
