The lip gloss version of the cult classic blush – NARS orgasm has a lot to live up to.  Like its namesake this lip gloss is peachy with gold shimmer.

Shade – As this is the namesake of the other NARS orgasm products, one expects NARS Orgasm Lip Gloss to be peachy pink as well.  Well, unfortunately I can’t see the pink anywhere, this is …peachy peach.  What can I say, I don’t see pink anywhere.  There is, like the blush, a very clearly visible gold shimmer as well.  Though this shimmer translates more in photographs, in person you don’t see much of the shimmer, just an overall shiny peach.

Unfortunately NARS Orgasm Lip Gloss does not look good on its own.  On my skin tone this washes me out, as it is many shades lighter than my own lips.  NARS Orgasm gloss works wonderfully, when worn over a red or a deep berry lip colour as the gold shimmer gives a very ornamental accent  to your lips.  It’s like draping a gold tissue silk over a plain red satin. Texture and Formula – Like all things NARS, the gloss quality is A+.  It feels wonderful on the lips, very moisturizing.  NARS Orgasm Lip Gloss glides on and does not settle into fine lines.   It is not at all sticky.  But there is one major thing I hate about this – the smell and taste.  I can’t quite put my finger on it – it just smells and tastes plastic and not pleasant at all. Scents normally do not bother me, but this one lingers and I find myself avoiding using this just because of the smell and the taste.  Both very unlike a high end brand. 

Pigmentation – NARS Orgasm Lip Gloss is reasonably pigmented, it manages to cover my darker lips pretty well.  When worn on another lipstick, it does show up and change the overall colour of the look.

Staying Power – NARS Orgasm Lip Gloss normally lasts on me for about 3 to 4 hours, after which it fades away evenly.  I do have a habit of consuming most of my lip colours but since this one is so offensive, I actually eat less, which probably is one of the reasons this lasts longer.

Overall Thoughts

Get me a better smelling/tasting version and NARS Orgasm Lip Gloss will be a special occasion staple.  Perfect for wearing over darker shades to make them look more ornate and weddingy.  (I know that’s not a word, but it should be)
