Today I am going to review my favourite blush from NARS. NARS is one of my favourite high end brands of cosmetics. It has yet to disappoint me. As much as I love the NARS Orgasm blush, I wanted something matte. That’s when I decide to pick up NARS Dolce Vita blush after careful deliberation. Did you know that ‘Dolce Vita’ means ‘a life of heedless pleasure and luxury’ (yes I googled it). I feel luxury is what defines all the products from NARS. And I do love the NARS powder blush range.

Packaging – The blush comes in a sleek black packaging. It looks very classy, elegant and luxurious. The brand name in white stands out on the top of the packaging. The rubberized finish makes the look of the product even more attractive. The blush comes in a rectangular pan inside and also has a decent sized mirror. Overall, I love the packaging.

Shade – NARS Dolce Vita is described as a dusty rose on NARS website. I agree. I would say it is a muted matte warm pink shade. It is not the usual bright pink. I would say it is a pink with red undertones and gives a perfect blush to the apples of your cheeks. It is an appropriate shade for Indian skin tones. Fair to darker skin tones it will suit all. Infact, dusky skin tones can carry this shade beautifully. It comes off looking so natural on the cheeks. It’s a perfect shade for everyday wear. Subtle but gives a healthy flush to the cheeks.

Texture & Finish – The blush is finely milled and the texture of the blush is smooth and velvety. It feels buttery to touch. Even though NARS Dolce Vita is a powder blush, it does not become messy or dusty when you try to pick up the product. It has a matte finish, but it doesn’t look flat on your cheeks. If anything, it gives a healthy flush and brings life to your face.

Pigmentation – It is an incredibly pigmented blush. Just a gentle touch with the blush brush is enough to pick up the required product. It is easy to go overboard with this blush, so be very careful and use a tiny amount. Takes a little effort to blend, but once buffed looks very natural.

Staying Power – It stays on my skin for 6-7 hours easily. After that it slowly starts fading, but doesn’t look uneven. Completely fades off after 9 hours. But I am happy with the wear time.

Overall Thoughts

NARS Dolce Vita blush is a finely milled velvety blush which is highly pigmented and comes of very natural looking. It will suit all skin tones, especially the medium to darker skin tones. Expensive but worth the splurge. It is a good investment and the product would last you very long.
