MUA Glamour Days Eyeshadow Palette Review, Swatches

MUA Glamour Days Eyeshadow Palette (£4) available at MUA website.MUA Glamour Days Eyeshadow Palette (2)MUA Glamour Days Eyeshadow Palette (3)Make Up Academy (MUA) Glamour Days and Glamour Nights comprises of a bunch of fun colors, and at around £4, they are great value for money. The packaging is basic, but the colors themselves speak out well. I purchased this a while back from their website and use it quite often, as can be seen from the palette itself.

Packaging – It’s pretty basic with a clear-topped glass lid. It is very easy to find within all my junk and I can easily identify which ones I want and work accordingly. There is a sponge tip applicator which is pretty long, and its useful, although I have never really used it much. I personally find the packaging flimsy, and am glad it hasn’t fallen off my hands because I am quite sure it would not have survived the fall.MUA Glamour Days Eyeshadow Palette (4)There are 12 colors in the palette, with six colors on the top and six on the bottom row. There is a lovely mixture of matte, pearl and glitter finishes.

Shade one from the left is a lovely pearly white gold color, perfect for highlighting and corners of my eyes. The second one is a favorite – lovely sea green that reminds me of Maybelline Color tattoo Edgy Emerald. Third one is a lovely pearly pomegranate shade, and reminds me of Maybelline Color tattoo Pomegranate Punk. Fourth one is a matte pinkish white perfect for blending. Fifth one is a matte yellow-brown shade, a great color for neutral eye makeup and base color. Sixth one is a lovely light blue with pearls. MUA Glamour Days Eyeshadow Palette (5)In the bottom row there are six shades that are again, very easy to work with. Shade one from the left is a lovely matte purple shade, reminding me again of Maybelline Color tattoo Painted Purple. The second one is a pearly pink shade, perfect for the lid and also, at times, for highlighting. You need to blend it well, though. Third one is a gorgeous glittery antique gold shade which is again great as an all over lid color, for brow bones, or for the inner corner of the eyes. Fourth color is a matte brownish black, great for doing a quick smoky eye look. Fifth one is a lovely shade of metallic bronze with a tendency towards pink. The last one is a creamy gold shade, pearly, which makes it great as a lid color as well as a highlighter.

The colors apply semi opaque to intense, depending on the use of an eye primer. Although a couple of the glittery shades have fallout issues, most of the pearly shades do not have the problem, and you would be able to blend everything in easily. I love the way some of the colors work out. I use the neutral shades and the matte shades a lot, as well as the pearly ones. I also have used the blues and purples, wet, as eyeliner, and they have worked out very well on my eyelids, staying put for hours.

The color payoff is awesome and it is very easy to blend the colors in. The staying power is also impressive. I have used the colors around 2 o’clock, and they stayed put till 12 in the night, with an eye primer. Without one, the colors stay put for 5-6 hours easily, after which they start fading. I have issues with many companies because their makeup tend to break me out, but this one did not, so big thumbs up there!

What I liked

  • Great colors
  • Easy to blend
  • Good staying power
  • Can be used wet and dry
  • Did not break me out

Areas Of Improvement

  • Flimsy packaging
  • Fallout
  • Currently available online at MUA website or Jabong (higher price)

Overall Thoughts

Although the glittery colors do have fallout, I would recommend the palette to makeup enthusiasts and beginners. This is a great budget palette at the price and I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for a cheap but good quality palette.
