This is a Korean company that has two sites, one based in Korea, catering to the local market, and a US based site that currently ships to a number of countries internationally, India being one.

The boxes range in price from $ 15 for mini boxes – going up to about $ 79 for special super boxes.  I love the fact that the boxes have a theme, that way you have some idea what you are getting and the surprise element is still intact.  This is also not a monthly subscription.  Memebox puts up new boxes very frequently and you can go and buy as many as you like!  A great way to try new products from Korea.

Shipping is normally dependent on the weight of the box and whether you choose normal or express.  For me this ranges between $7 to $ 14. Basically the cost of this box to me, was around $30, approximately Rs 1800.  Considering how full this is, I’m quite happy.Whats in Whole Grain Memebox?

So the special Whole grain box has 8 full size items.  Yes 8!   I am really looking forward to using some of these.  A single sheet giving the complete details of the products enclosed is great, it is important to keep this for a bit, since some of the packaging information is in Korean.

• Grinif Nature Oatmeal Scrub Bar 130 gm.   This is rather large for a soap!  It is completely hand made and is supposed to be used on your face.  I can’t remember the last time I used soap on my face, but this seems quite mild and delicate.  This is the only product I have used so far.  I am sure if I only continue to use this as a facewash, it will last me a year.  I may use this for as an all over soap soon.
• Herbclinic Rice Bran Powder 80gms.   This comes in a bottle that looks just like a vitamin container.  I was actually scared it was something to consume, I would rather avoid such stuff. Fortunately its a face pack that is to be mixed with milk and used.  I love using milk on my face, its super hydrating and removes tan – this one should be good.
• Purebess Galactomyces 100% 50ml.  This is a water like essence and contains Galactomyces, similar to the stuff in SK II skin care.  Can’t wait to pop this open and try it.  I think this will be a step between toning and serum.
• Purebess Galactomyces 80 Eye Cream 50ml.  50Ml of eye cream ? Seriously?  I have trouble finishing 15 ml eye cream tubes.  How in the world will I use this up? Well the product note says you can use this on other wrinkle prone areas as well, so thats what I’m going to do.
• Purederm Anti-stress Heat Therapy Mask Oatmeal 150ml.  This is a face mask to remove residue and unclog pores.  Another one I’m planning on using soon.
• Purederm Rice Bran Collagen Mask – 2 Sheet masks.   I have started using a lot of sheet masks of late.  I do like how they manage to hydrate the skin.
• Purederm Daily Moisturizing Hand Mask Oatmeal – 1 pair.  Yes, this is a set of hydrating gloves for your hands.  I have really dry hands, here’s hoping that this works.  I can see myself buying cartons of this if it makes my hands soft.
• Purederm Invigorating Foot Scrub Walnut. 25Ml sachet.  Love a great scrub.  Love pampering my feet.  This one is one of my favorites from the box.

Overall Thoughts

I find this box to be a very value for money proposition.  I realise that I don’t have any idea about the brands in the box and how well received these are even in the Korean Market, so there is an element of risk.  I have, however tried some good Korean skincare and makeup and find the quality to be absolutely tops.  Plus arent they the ones that started the BB and the CC creams?  I see a lot of innovation coming from there and a ton of international and widely acclaimed bloggers have only great feedback on Korean products.  I think this is definitely worth trying.  The fact that you buy when you want and what theme you like, makes this even more appealing.  I am going to be buying a lot more of these in the future.
