Maybelline Super Stay 14hr Lipstick Enduring Ruby – Rs 525, available at medplusbeauty and Maybelline CountersMaybelline Super Stay 14 hr Lipsticks come in 20 shades (I could see only 16 on the counter) and they vary from Corals to fuchsia to reds and wines.. I am sure every girl will find a shade of her liking.

I looked at the shades and found out that for medium dusky skin tones there were number of color choices. In red family you get three options- non stop red, Timeless crimson and enduring ruby. Non stop red was a bit too bright and Timeless crimson was bit dark for my liking so I picked Enduring Ruby which is true to its name. A beautiful Ruby red shade which would suit all skin tones.Texture of these lipsticks is surprisingly smooth, unlike other matte long-wearing lipsticks. I was afraid that it might end up making my lips look drier and patchy, but the formula looked and felt really comfortable. I decided to exfoliate my lips before putting these on as this weather is making my lips all flaky and wrinkle-y. The buttery smooth formula glides on without tugging or pulling.

Enduring Ruby is packed with pigments, delivers satisfying amount of color is one swipe. The finish initially looks glossy but settles in matte after few minutes.As far as staying power is concerned, Enduring Ruby stayed on me for good 7+ hours, with minimal fading from middle of the bottom lip. After that it starts fading away (after full course meal) and leaves a mild stain behind. If you ask, the claim of 14 hours will be true only if you consider the mild stain it leaves behind otherwise the full on lipstick stays on for 7+ hours only.

One thing I disliked was that these transfer a lot. They get transferred to everything lips touch. Also once it disappears the urge to apply lip balm returns. Not that lips feel uncomfortably dry but they did feel dry that i started licking them :/

Overall Thoughts

A great option for working or college going girls who go on for long hours without retouching. The choice of shades is incredible, every girl can find one for her. Long wearing formula is amazingly pigmented & definitely stays on for 7+ hours and stains lips for next couple of hours. I liked the fact that the formula doesn’t feel uncomfortable on lips come what may. The only downside would be settling in fine lines just before it starts to fade away and that looks unpleasant.
