The beauty blogger in me hops on to every new product it spots online/ in stores, without much thinking. I spotted these Maybelline Popsticks on Flipkart last week and couldn’t stop myself from ordering two shades. Unfortunately experience is not as pleasant as I expected it to be.

Packaging is similar to Maybelline POW lipsticks that launched a while ago. Lipstick looks like jelly and almost translucent.

Shades – Maybelline Popstick Orange Crush is a bright orange with golden shimmers, Maybelline Popstick Tropical Pink looks orange in the bullet but comes off pink on lips. Unfortunately no matter how much I swipe Orange Crush, it doesn’t deliver any color at all ! However Tropical Pink does give a light pink color after gazillion swipes.

Texture & Formula – Both Maybelline Orange Crush, Tropical Pink popsticks feel balmy on the lips and keep them moisturized. Texture is light and slippery and provides a high shine finish. Maybelline Popstick has a nice fruity scent but doesn’t taste like anything.Pigmentation – This is where Maybelline Popstick falls flat on its face. There is no color payoff, specially with Maybelline Orange Crush, it appears pretty deep when you look at it but no matter how many times you apply it fails to deliver any color. Tropical Pink shows some color but that doesn’t do anything for my pigmented lips.Staying Power – Maybelline Popstick Orange Crush doesn’t provide any color so I couldn’t judge its staying power, Tropical Pink stays on for 2+ hours and leaves a nice natural pink stain that stays on for another 2 hours.

Overall Thoughts

I have come across couple of not-so-happening products this year but nothing as disappointing as Maybelline Popstick. I have couple of lip balms that work just the same and provide more color to my lips. Not Recommended at all unless you have non-pigmented lips and interested in a balmy-lip products.
