Maybelline Lip Polish is the latest launch from Maybelline. They have been launched this New Year, and comes in 15 shades. There are two different types – glam and pop. This review is about Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 13.

Maybelline Claims: A TRIO of CONCENTRATES:

  1. Potent Color Extracts: Pure saturated color pigments that provide deep intense color like a lipstick.
  2. Concentrated Liquid Balm: Moisturizing Liquid Conditioning Balm gets the lips ready for Intensely Rich color. Gives a soft Cushiony feel & care to the lips.
  3. Glossy Shine Serum: Built-in glossy top-coat, that makes lips look fuller & more luscious.
  4. Specially designed Leaf-shaped applicator which makes application quick & precise.

Packaging and Applicator: The packaging Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 13 is done simply – I am reminded of Maybelline Hi-shine glosses, but in a miniature size. The top is shiny silver with a transparent body. Very easy to locate and get the right color. The doe-foot applicator is slightly inclined to one side, and has a nice, thin edge, which makes it easy to get the product all over my lips without messing up and missing the lip line.

Product Texture and Application: The texture of Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 13 is a cross between a gloss and a lipstick. It is not as liquid as a gloss, or as solid as a lipstick. That makes it easy for me to apply. The applicator works wonders in coating my mouth with the color, and the color glides on very smoothly. There is no dryness or feathering or bleeding, and I really do not need a lip liner with this.

Color and Pigmentation : Although Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 13 looks quite brown in the tube it is actually a lovely shade of brownish pink, which strongly reminds me of the MAC lipstick Brick-O-La. Of course, it is not as pigmented, or as long lasting as Brick-O-La, but my lips do look naturally beautiful with this color. It works very well with slightly yellow-tinged skin like mine, and I can see this color becoming a favorite of many, especially those who have darker skin tones. There are fine shimmers in this color. I think the Glam range might have shimmers in it, since I read up a few other reviews and saw that those suggested the same as well.

Staying Power: The lasting power is about 3-4 hours, if I don’t eat or drink. The color leaves a mild stain, and a bit of micro shimmers, which can be removed easily with a wet tissue, and does not stick to the lines of my lips as most glosses tend to do. It does transfer slightly. As it is a gloss, I wasn’t really expecting anything beyond 2 hours, but the color pretty much surprised me. There is no dryness at all, and my lips feel hydrated for a few hours afterwards.

Overall Thoughts

I am absolutely in love with the color and the texture of Maybelline Lip Polish Glam 13 , and I want to pick up a few others from the range while winter remains, simply because of the hydration factor – Glam 12 and Glam 6 are what I will be targeting. Again, Maybelline has come up with a good product.

Ratings : 4.5/5
