Maybelline Face Studio V Face Duo Stick,Blush Contour,Duo Powder Review

Maybelline has recently launched Face Studio Contouring Range that includes V Face Duo Stick, Blush Contour, Duo Powder. I was so excited because in India we don’t have much choices in affordable category when it comes to contouring. I immediately ordered all the three products from Amazon.

Now I will take you through each of them one by one

Maybelline Face Studio V-Face Duo Stick (Rs 650)

–       It is a duo stick; you can contour and highlight using just one product.

–       The 2 in 1 stick gives structure to your face.

–       It has a creamy formula that blends into your skin with utmost ease.

The V-Face Duo Stick comes in two shades Light Medium & Medium Deep. It is dual ended stick that has cream contour on one end and cream highlighter on the other. I really liked the packaging, it is compact & user friendly.

Now coming to the product I am not much fan of the muddy tone of the contouring stick. Generally contouring powders are cool toned, to mimic the effect of shadows. This one is warm, and quite muddy brown which isn’t something I enjoy. Another drawback is the shade, despite of being labelled as medium deep the shades doesn’t even show up on me. It is one shade darker than my foundation which is such a disappointment.

The highlighter on the other hand is pretty. I liked the creamy non-glittery formula, it looks quite good and imparts a nice sheen when applied. It also blends quickly and works as a great base for powder highlighters. It is a warm toned, light highlighter and should suit medium complexions.

Maybelline Face Studio V-Face Duo Powder (Rs 500)

– Easy to blend.

–       Completes the contour.

–       Gives you the perfect tint for your cheeks.

The compact is quite interested for the price. It is a round, bit heavy plastic compact with powder (V Shaped) and brush in the compartment under it. It also has a mirror which makes it convenient to apply the product on the go. Like the Duo Stick, I ordered this one in medium deep too, but received the wrong shade (light medium) twice. I gave up and used it to test the formula and texture.

The powder has two shades in one compact. Lighter powder can be used to highlight and darker one has to go over the cream contour to set it. Since the shade is a bit light to work as a contour for me, I use it as an overall powder to set my makeup. The texture of the powder is quite soft and blendable. The lighter shades works beautifully as an under eye setting powder, it sets the concealer and highlights the area without being chalky or drying. Quite Impressive.

The V-Face Duo powder is matte and doesn’t feel powdery. It blends well and looks beautiful. I am so impressed with the silky formula that will definitely check out the darker shade whenever I am in store.

My favourite product from the range. The blush is so pretty and has a beautiful matte soft formula. To be safe I always pick the darkest shade, there are 3 shades available – Peach, Pink & brown. I picked brown and to my delight it is quite good for deeper complexions. There are 3 shades in one pan – peach, warm brown, cool toned brown.

I have used the contour powder from this palette and it shows up quite beautifully on me. You can use the shades individually or swirl the bush and get a warm toned color for your cheeks.

Texture is quite soft and non-chalky. It applies and blends nicely.

Maybelline Face Studio V- Face Duo Stick, the V-Face Contour Blush and the V-Face Duo Powder are priced between Rs 500- Rs 650.

Overall Thoughts

There are definitely some hits & misses in this range. From price point these are good products, however I would have loved to see darker, more cool toned shades for contouring. If you want to pick I will recommend the V-Face Blush Contour and the V-Face Duo Powder.
