Its the year of cushion foundation, we have seen many brands launching cushion foundations in India apart from korean beauty brands. Latest launch is Maybelline Dream Cushion Fresh Face Liquid Foundation in 6 shades.
Like regalar cushion foundations, Maybelline Dream Cushion Foundation comes in a round plastic tub with a sponge saturated with foundation inside. It has a mirror inside the lid and a flat sponge applicator.

Shade – I picked sun beige online. Choosing the right shade online is a tough task. The shade looked quite dark in the pan but looks light on the skin. It would match NC 40-42.
Texture & Formula – I like cushion foundations for their extremely light weight formula and skin like finish. This one is no exception. Maybelline Dream Cushion Foundation offers luminous finish and feels almost weight less on the skin, making it perfect for the current hot weather. Infact the texture is really good for everyday wear since it doesn’t take more than a few minutes to blend into the skin.
Finish is skin like. I have dry skin and skipping powder gives me a nice glowy finish, however if yours is oily then setting it with a powder is a must. The formula sits nicely on the skin and doesn’t look cakey or patchy. I really enjoy it since I am already into cushion foundations after trying The Body Shop Fresh Nude Cushion Foundation. Due to light weight packaging it is easy to carry in the handbag too.
Coverage – I would call it a light to medium coverage foundation. I like to apply just one layer of it and then go over with a concealer for spot concealing.
Staying Power – Without a primer the staying power is good 4-5 hours, with primer it does cross 5+ . Due to its dewy finish it does transfer a little. You can see me using it in this video.

Overall Thoughts
IF you love light weight everyday foundation then do try Maybelline Dream Cushion Fresh Face Liquid Foundation. There are 6 shades to try from. However we all know that the quantity is always less in cushion foundations which is obviously the biggest downside.

Although I so love the dewy finish and moisturizing texture of cushion foundations, I always find the coverage on lighter side as a turn off. Thanks for sharing your review
