Maybelline Color Sensational Rose Quartz Pink Eyeshadow (Rs 575)
Maybelline is one brand that comes up with new makeup products almost every month. I like them for the affordability and quality of the product. The Nudes Eyeshadow Palette is still my go to palette and I like it more than L’Oreal LA Palette Nude Beige. I was quite excited for the newest eyeshadow palettes that are small and come with 5 eyeshadows. I don’t know whether the brand will discontinue the previous quads or not.
Shade – I picked Maybelline Color Sensational Rose Quartz Pink which is has rosy hues. I wanted to pick the bronze/gold one but thought this one would look pretty since the rose tones aren’t that prominent. I also liked the color selection in the palette. The palette looks pretty, sadly it has no mirror and comes with a sad small applicator.
Texture & Formula – I was hoping to get a decent pigmentation out of these 5 shades. Upon swatching most of the shades look sheer and shimmery. The shade in the middle which is the prettiest doesn’t even show up, the frosty white shade on the top left corner is good for brow bone highlight, the top right corner eyeshadow is the one I used for my makeup lok. However the formula is shimmery and hard to build up. I had to spray some setting spray on my brush to get some pigments on the lids. The two dark shades on the bottom corners aren’t impressive. The grey-black is powdery anf the taupe one is sheer.
All in all the palette doesn’t have pigmented shades and without using an opaque base or good eyeshadow primer , I doubt if they would even show up on the lids.
Pigmentation – Most of the shades lack pigments and hardly show up on my lids. I used MAC Painterly Paint pot and that helped in some way. But due to powderyness of some of the shades the eye makeup was difficult to achieve.
Staying Power – I have always used these with an eyeshadow primer only so can’t comment as to how long these stay without a good base.
Overall Thoughts
I managed to make it work this time, but don’t see myself reaching out for Maybelline Color Sensational Rose Quartz Pink palette in future. The formula is sheer and texture of some of the shades is powdery. The pans are small and the price has been increased. I am not sure how rest of the palettes are from this range. Not an impressive product in my opinion.

This one is not half as good as the diamond glow quads! And the price is also so unfavourable, coming from Maybelline. I was very disappointed. Thanks

Very disappointing. I have heard the same opinion from everybody who has used this. Love your makeup here 🙂

You look so gorgeous but the palette is definitely disappointing.
The Beauty Highlights
The shades are so pretty. Would have been a great one if they were more pigmented.
