Maybelline keeps on launching various versions or variety of their cult favourite lip balm range – Baby Lips. I cam across this limited edition range Maybelline Alia Loves New York Baby Lips and thought of picking them. As always they have 4 shades.
Maybelline Alia Loves New York Baby Lips Lip Balm come in 4 shades. The packaging has a metallic finish and colored caps. It also has Alia Loves New York written on the body on one side and Baby Lips on the other.
Shades – Maybelline Alia Loves New York Baby Lips Lip Balm comes in 4 shades –
Brooklyn Bronze – Orange
Broadway Red – Red
Manhattan Mauve – Deep raspberry
Highland Wine – Deep wine
All the shades show up pretty nicely. The last 3 are very pigmented and look almost like a gloss. The shades are good for everyday or college girls.
Texture & Formula – The only challenge I face with Maybelline Baby Lips Lip Balm is that they are hydrating till the time the formula is there on the lips. As soon as it wears off lips go back to their dry self, which means the formula doesn’t heal or repair chapped lips. You can apply them for the color but I don’t reach out for it when my lips are chapped and need intense moisture.
Texture is glossy and slippery, it gives an illusion of fuller lips. The formula smells fruity and balmy on the lips.
Pigmentation – Now coming to the pigmentation the 4 shades are tinted and the payoff is quite good. On my pigmented lips the colors still show up, specially the last three shades. Highline wine goes opaque in 2-3 swipes and offer good tint. The tint remains even when the formula wears off.
I use them only when I need tint or some color on the lips. Another plus is the presence of sunscreen (SPF 20), which is crucial.

Baby Lips never disappoint. With good pigmentation, variety of shades and SPF factor, they are the best choice for college-goers who would like a subtle tint on lips. Only con is that they are not hydrating enough…
