Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick Burnt Caramel (Rs 750) available at Slassy.comMax Factor Colour Elixir lipstick can be called the underrated superstars of the lipstick worlds. These are rapidly becoming my favorite, and I am currently looking at the other products they have in their kitty, apart from their mascaras which I love already.
Company Speak:
Colour Elixir Lipstick gives you smooth, soft lips with gorgeous colour.Instant fabulous colour.Actively moisturises for smoother, fuller lips (vs. bare lips). A blend of 60% emollients, conditioners and antioxidants including vitamin E.
Product and Packaging: The product packaging is elegant with a golden body and the shade color in the back. However, it is one of those packages which gets scratched up a lot, so be careful while carrying or you might end up with scratches on the body of the lipstick. However, it does not open up, which is a good thing.Color and Texture: Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick Burnt Caramel is super-hydrating. I can safely say that this is one of the colors which glides on very easily, and looks nice on skin tone under NC 44 or so. The texture is very smooth and the lipstick glides on easily, going opaque almost immediately after application, hiding minor flaws of the lips in the same time. This makes it a favorite of people with pigmented lips.
The color of Max Factor Colour Elixir Lipstick Burnt Caramel is quite deceptive. It looks dark and brown, but on application it is a perfect nude, bordering towards rose to make sure the hint of feminine blush stays in and the lips look hydrated and happy. It does have a faint smell, but that is something I can live with. I love the effect it has. It does not flake, bleed, and has no glitters in it. As it is super-creamy, it does transfer.
Staying Power :The lipstick lasts for 4 hours easily on my lips. If left undisturbed, it stays for over 7-8 hours, drying out slightly and settling. But even then, it looks really natural. It does go away when I eat or drink, but leaves a mild stain behind which looks good.
What I liked
- Lovely color
- Does not bleed or flake
- Glides on easily
- Hydrates
- Lasts a good period of time
Areas of Improvement
- Lipstick bullet scratches easily
- Transfers
Overall Thoughts
I personally feel that this is one of the best lipsticks for office wear on my skin tone, as it is very subtle but at the same time extremely useful. I have also multitasked, by using it as a blush for that little flush when I was going out after work and did not have anything in hand. Overall, a great shade to try, and grab this one before Max Factor raises the price.
