Marc Jacobs Charlotte Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick Review

If I were a princess, I guess even I would have a lipstick named after me!  Yes, one year old Princess Charlotte, daughter of the lovely Dutchess Kate and Prince William has a gorgeous lipstick named after her – Marc Jacobs Charlotte Le Marc Lip Creme Lipstick. Wow! Imagine that.

Shade – Marc Jacobs Charlotte is a very special red lipstick – I guess given the special nature of the name they could not have gone with any other red.  I have about 20 reds and yet this one stands head and shoulders above the rest.  This is a slightly pink toned warm red.  Yes, you read that correctly, it is pink toned and yet it is warm.  There is a lovely tinge of berry which makes the lipstick lean towards a warm red.  I love how it looks on me, red but not bright and not calling for over the top attention.   Once applied it is not a true matte, but not shiny either – it leans towards a velvet matte.

Pigmentation – The shade is super saturated and pigmented.  It takes just one stroke to get the colour right.  I love how dense it is and gets opaque completely with just one go.  In fact when I got down to removing this with my normal make up remover I could not imagine how much colour came off on the cotton pad.  Clearly they have spared no expense to make this special.

Texture is super creamy and super luscious. I know I keep using the same superlative adjectives over and over again, but I cant help it, it is just amazing. Marc Jacobs Charlotte Keeps lips hydrated and looking alive and doesent settle into fine lines.

Staying Power – 8 hours straight.  Need I say more?  This is one of the only lip colours that I actually have to remove at the end of the day.

Packaging – This comes in the normal Le Marc black tube with a magnetic closure.  The lipstick bullet however is not very faceted.   I find it a little difficult to actually draw the line on the lips – this being such a dense colour.  I wish they had a few sharp edges on the bullet that almost always makes it easier to apply.

Overall Thoughts

I feel pretty lucky that I was able to pick up such a coveted shade.  I love the colour and I’m sure this tube is going to run out soon. Marc Jacobs Charlotte is a shade to die for, and the texture amazing.  Can’t wait to try more from this range.
