I love blushes and have quite a few in my collection. Makeup Geek makes some amazing quality but affordable makeup products and I always wanted to buy them. But never did because of shipping & customs. This time I got 15% discount code in my mailbox and I couldn’t stop myself from buying those beautiful blushes. I picked all in compacts since the packaging is gorgeous ! Makeup Geek Desire is the first shade I tried from the stash.
Soft and subtle to bright and bold, Makeup Geek Blushes blend effortlessly into the skin to add the perfect dose of radiance to your cheeks. Their finely milled powder guarantees a smooth, buttery feel and a flawless application, every time. Rich pigmentation combined with a fade-resistant formula offers buildable, long-lasting color. This Talc & paraben free formula is also great for sensitive skin – These are all highly-pigmented – just check out the swatches.
Packaging is gorgeous ! The metal compact is sturdy and has a mirror inside. The cap has a magnetic closure and it doesn’t open on its own, at the same time you don’t have to struggle with opening it every time.
Shade – Makeup Geek Desire is a marsala color which is intense and deep ! I picked it since none of my current blushes have this intensity. Now with that you need to be extra careful while applying it. The color is more suited for medium-deep complexion.
Texture & Formula – Makeup Geek Desire is a matte blush. Sometimes matte formula tend to get powdery or chalky. But thankfully this one has a creamy smooth texture which has amazed me the most. You have to little careful as the color is intense and only a small amount is more than enough.
Formula is soft and smooth, it blends quickly without turning patchy. I take little amount of the blush, tap it on the back of my hand and then apply. You have to be really light handed while applying and blending and it just looks phenomenal.
Pigmentation – Now you can guess from the swatch above, Makeup Geek Desire is extremely pigmented. The above swatch is just one swirl in the pan, that too lightly. You can watch my latest Get Ready With Me video where I have used this blush.
Staying Power – It stays on for good 7+ hours on me with a little fading towards the end of 5 hours. It doesn’t turn patchy and fades evenly.
The shade is warm & pretty and should work all year round. I love it and would pair with neutral or warm toned makeup looks.

Overall Thoughts
The formula of Makeup Geek Desire is comparable to high end blushes that I own. The price is so less and affordable for such a good quality product and gorgeous packaging. The shade is intense and fit for deeper complexions. Formula is matte and gives smooth finish. I got my order in 13 days and didn’t have to pay customs. I would love to try out eyeshadows from them next.
