Make Up Forever HD Powder is a high definition setting powder.  This is made from very finely milled silica particles and is supposed to work for all skin tones.  This is talc free and MUFE calls it non drying.   Cutting edge make up at its best!

Packaging – Make Up Forever HD Powder comes in a transparent plastic case with a inner lid that protects powder.  The inner lid has three small holes from which you can get out as much powder as you need for a single application.  This does take some time and you do need to coax the powder out a bit.  This packaging is really good for this kind of product as you need really little for one use.

Product – You are supposed to lightly brush this on after doing your full makeup, that is after foundation and blush.  Make Up Forever HD Powder is really finely milled and it sinks right in.  The powder is supposed to blur any imperfections and set your makeup in place.  It gives a matte look to the skin.

You can also use it even if you are planning to go without any makeup.  Just put this on after using serum and moisturizer and you are set.   The powder is invisible but acts like a Photo-shopped finish to even out any discolorations and remove imperfections.

Use – You have to be extremely light handed with Make Up Forever HD Powder – any excess used cannot be seen by the naked eye, however shows up on camera as a white cast on the skin.  This is because a direct flash, bounces off the silica particles and makes it look mask like.  There are a number of celebrity make up faux pas available on the net, where an excess amount of HD powder has been used on some part of the facial features to remove blemishes.  There are white patches showing on the faces of these celebs!

My hand swatch clearly shows excess use of the Make Up Forever HD Powder – a complete white cast.  Just for the record, this only shows up in the camera image and not in person.

Make Up Forever HD Powder itself is pretty great and I would hate to stop using it because I don’t know how to blend, so here’s my solution.   Each time I use this product, I take a quick selfie with my phone – making sure the flash is on.   I take a quick look at the image and further blend out where I feel there is some white showing.  Works for me.

Overall Thoughts

I really like the concept of these new high tech HD powders.  Those with a few blemishes or discoloration will love this product.  Also, once you get used to how much you need, Make Up Forever HD Powder is really quite simple to apply.
