MAC Viva Glam Rihanna Lipstick (Rs 1450) available at MAC stores

While MAC recently launched VIVA GLAM Rihanna 2, a frosty mauve shade in US, we are still stocking up on initial shade launched in VIVA GLAM range. Although I find the colour not very different but recently recommended it to my younger sister and she is thoroughly enjoying endless compliments she gets. That made me try again and voile I am loving how different it is from regular MAC Red lipsticks.

Shade – MAC VVIA GLAM RIHANNA 1 is bright blue toned frosty cherry red shade with warm golden sheen shimmer to it, the shimmer is finally milled and doesn’t feel uneasy on lips. It may make your lips little dry if they are not well hydrated or moisturized. The colour is easy to carry as it is not in your face nor it is matte which needs a lot of courage, so if you are afraid of full on reds then this is a great alternate.

Texture and Formula – This is from frost finish range which usually comes with chunky frosty shimmer but this is really finally milled and looks flattering on lips. It is easy to wear and glide due to creamy texture.

Pigmentation – Viva Glam Rihanna 1 is decently pigmented and required two – three layers to get opaque coverage.

Packaging – The lipstick is housed in matte maroon red bullet with rihanna signature on black, quite an interesting packaging and that was one of the reason I purchased this.

Staying Power – I get 3 – 4 hrs of wear with Viva Glam Rihanna 1 and then it leave behind a slight reddish tint. The shimmer doesn’t run around as it’s very finally milled.

Overall Thoughts

I keep myself away from frost finish lipsticks from MAC but Viva Glam Rihanna 1  is exceptional – it is gorgeous bright red shade and when paired with gloss released in same collection it is even more flattering although  it is equally wonderful on its own.
