MAC Vegas Volt Lipstick Review swatches

MAC Vegas Volt Lipstick (Rs 990) available at MAC StoresMAC Vegas Volt Lipstick Review swatches (1)MAC Vegas Volt Lipstick Review swatches (2)MAC Vegas Volt is a part of their permanent collection, and has a lovely bright orange-coral tone which works wonders for yellow skin tones. Although I would say that it is difficult to make this color work for many people, if you can, this color is going to be your best friend.

At 990/- for 3 gm. it is a color which is great for summers and in fact, even during the monsoons. I have been sporting this for some time now, and here is my take on it.

Packaging – It is standard,  a matte black bullet body with a silver band indicating the clasp which secures tightly, making this extremely travel-friendly. Enclosed is the lipstick which does not melt, even at around 35 degree temperature outside. That makes this pretty much travel-friendly.MAC Vegas Volt Lipstick Review swatches (3)Shade – The color of the product is bright orange-coral, with yellow tones. While Crosswire has cooler tones to it, making it perfect for women with pink toned skin, this is the perfect foil for it for warm-toned girls, and on my NC 42-43 skin tone, I admit, it is slightly too light at times if I do not apply it carefully. I generally like applying a nude lip liner to line my lips prior to application.

Texture & Formula – The lipstick’s texture is super-creamy. It glides on easily, and does not tug at all (unlike my Ruby Woo, which is starting to dry out now and hence, tugging on my lips). It does bleed slightly, hence the need for liner, and what I really like is the fact that the color is super-pigmented, and goes opaque even at one swipe.MAC Vegas Volt Lipstick Review swatches (4)

On my lips, the color does not dry out at all, and lasts for 4 hours easily. You can do a touch up after 3-4 hours, and that works very well. The color does not feather or flake, and has no shimmer, glitter or sheen, making this a great day wear shade for me. It does leave a nice orange stain which is pretty flattering, so definitely a color which works out well.

I generally apply it in its full glory if I want it to stand out, or blot once to tone it down. In both cases, it stays put for some time. It does transfer, so touch ups are required after eating or drinking. It keeps my lips hydrated so points there as well.MAC Vegas Volt Lipstick Review swatches (5)
