I had shared MAC Shadestar Contour Powder few days back and had mentioned that I own one more shade of their pro powder and this was the one I was talking about – Shadowy. I picked MAC Shadowy Contour Powder as Shadestar was little too warm and I wanted to see how a cool toned contour powder would look and that’s how I picked this from MAC PRO STORE in Mumbai .

Shade – MAC Shadowy Contour Powder is described as Deep Matte brown, it is absolute matte cool toned brown shade with enough grey tones to it to add the depth on contours of your face. The shade may look little too much for someone below NC 30 – 35 due to strong grey undertones to it but nevertheless if played carefully it can add a lot of depth .

Texture & Formula – The texture of MAC Contour powders is very finally milled and is easy to build and effortless to blend provided you pick a correct applicator. I use a brush like MAC 168 which has slant tip that sits perfectly in contours of my face.

Pigmentation – The powder is decently pigmented and is easy to build; you can easily control this with good light fan brush or a light touch of slant brush like MAC 168. I prefer using a slant brush for this and then blend it well in circular motions to give that chiselled effect.

Staying power – MAC Shadowy Contour Powder on well prepped and primed skin stays for 8 – 9 hrs easily and my face looks sculpted and well defined without any fading.

Overall Thoughts

I highly recommend MAC Shadowy Contour Powder if you want some strong contouring this could be the right product for you. The powder is finally milled and easy to build and blend and not to forget it is easily available in India even if only PRO stores but glad that we have an awesome product here in India.
