MAC He Said She Said Prolongwear Lip Pencil Review Swatches Photos

I never knew that MAC has lip pencils as well from the Prolong wear range and when I spotted these at the store, I had to try them. I swatched all the colors and fell in love with the pigmentation. I asked for a wet wipe and started removing them and they refused to budge. I was highly impressed and I brought back 2 colours from this range. One of them is called MAC He Said She Said Prolongwear Lip Pencil.

Shade – This is a very pretty red color lip pencil that is universally flattering. It can be worn with almost all your red lipsticks.

Texture & Formula – I have tried the normal lip pencils from MAC but I always found them drying on my lips and not long wearing as well. These pencils are creamy in texture and easy to apply. They do not tug or pull your lips. Lining and filling your lips is super easy with these prolong wear lip pencils.

I find the quantity to be less than the regular line of Lip pencils which is a disappoint. But I have not seen this texture and longevity In any other lip pencil so the price can be justified. These pencils are multi purpose as they can be used for lining and as an all over lip color as well.

They are quite travel friendly as the cap does not come out and I always keep one in my bag. The tip of this lip pencil is not very sharp like normal lip pencils but this is more like a lip crayon. That does not make the lip lining difficult at all. In fact, I like this tip more than the sharp ones which break easily

It is not required to sharp them often so there is less wastage of the product unlike the regular MAC lip pencils. Also, these lip pencils do not break.

Pigmentation – They sit pretty comfortable on the lips. The pigmentation is fantastic and it covers pigmented lips beautifully. I usually line and fill my lips with this and then top it off with a light coat of lipstick or gloss.

Staying Power –  Once you apply, MAC He Said She Said sets to a matte finish and does not budge the whole day. It survives full meals and does not fade a bit even after 6-7 hours of wear. I prefer these over the Retro Matte lipsticks which are highly drying.

It comes in so many shades and has beautiful neutrals to dark vampy shades as well. Pricey I know, but worth every penny I would say. I am picking up more shades for sure.

Overall Thoughts

Recommendation: I highly recommend these lip pencils. They are creamy in texture but set to a matte finish after application. Long staying, comfortable and highly pigmented. Totally worth the money spent.
