MAC Prep Plus Prime BB Cream Review Swatches Photos

I am a big fan of light weight base makeup products and am not someone who prefers full face makeup unless I have to attend a wedding. BB creams are my absolute favorites or must haves I would call. MAC Prep Plus Prime BB Cream is one my favorites. Read to know why.

Packaging – MAC BB Cream comes in a classy black shiny tube that is super travel friendly. The quantity is similar to their foundations so it easily lasts a long time.

Texture & Formula – BB Cream has a very light weight texture. Initially it appears as a thick cream but blends very fast and easily. In spite of being light weight. It has good pigmentation and hides under eye circles, pigmentation around the mouth and acne scars easily. It does not look heavy like a foundation. However, if you have many acne scars, I would advice using a concealer on top.

Staying Power – It Cream keeps the skin fresh for about 5-6 hours and the t-zone would require a bit of touch up. I usually set it with MAC Select Sheer Pressed Powder which is another must have for me from MAC.

You can also use any translucent powder to set MAC Prep Plus Prime BB Cream and make it look natural. This BB cream suits all skin types, especially oil skin as it mattifies to an extent . I would advice using a primer under neath to extend the staying power and also to protect the skin.

The only problem with the MAC BB Cream is the shade range. It is available only in 4 shades in India and I use Medium Plus. It has a slight pink tone in it. None of the shades are actually yellow which is what Indians need. While it works well on my hand as my hands are pale, my face is very much yellow. MAC Prep Plus Prime BB Cream looks natural upon blending on my face and also looks good in real. But when photographed, especially in flash light, it looks horrible and ashy.

Overall Thoughts:

MAC Prep Plus Prime BB Cream is a light weight BB cream which suits sensitive skin and works as a great quick base makeup product especially for women on the go. I hope they introduce more warm shades and it will be a big hit.
